Capo

Capo is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in cherry hill, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Limb Amputation.

cherry hill, NJ

I found Capo in November of 2021 in Philly. I called him over and he jumped in my arms. He was dirty, skinny where I could see his ribs, had fleas and was hungry. I attempted to find his owner & when I took him to the vet he was chipped & his owner said she wanted him back but never contacted me. She said she thought he got ran over or stolen & that was it. No love lost. I'd be an absolute mess! He has stage 2 Sarcoma Cancer in his left leg. He can no longer bend or move his leg, it just hangs there. He can't walk up or down the steps on his own & can't take long walks like he loves. His leg drags on the ground when he goes for a walk and is tired. It is now a hinder to him & sorta in his way. He doesn't have cancer in his chest which is great so if we remove his leg he will live. Capo is my 2nd dog. He has a sister who is a yorkiepoo. He is sucha loveable & happy dog. He always wants to cuddle & is very protective of his family, especially my niece, whose his bestie. She can't wait to see him when she comes over & now with his leg it's hard for my niece to play with him like she used to. He is very strong-willed and determined. He is still young & has the will to live. I just started working a part time job. I had a close family member pass recently & had some medical issues I needed to take care of. My dogs are my children. I don't know what me or my other dog would do without Capo. It would affect us all drastically, especially my niece.

Copper

Copper is a 1 year old Chihuahua in Eugene, OR, who needs $2,000 for Angular Limb Deformity Orthopedic Surgery.

Eugene, OR

We adopted Copper from a rescue near our home in Oregon when he was a tiny 5-month-old. We had always wanted a dog but had never had the opportunity until our new apartment finally allowed a pet. We went to a rescue visit day at our local PetSmart just to look, not expecting to find a pet that day. But when we met Copper, we knew we wanted him to come home with us. We’ve had him almost a year now! When we got Copper, he loved running and jumping around. One day, he started limping on his front legs, and it got worse over time. Oregon State University’s Vet Hospital imaged his legs. A jump must have injured his front legs, and they grew curved, causing pain in his joints. He needs surgery to straighten out both front legs, or he’ll have increasing lifelong pain when he walks. Copper wants to meet every single dog he sees, and every dog he meets loves him! He isn’t afraid to play with dogs 10 times his size. His favorite game with us is being chased in circles around the armchair. He’s a picky eater, but he *loves* beef. He “protects” us from scary sounds at night, and he loves to be snuggled to sleep at night. Also, Copper and his “dad” share the same birthday! We’re students on part-time income, trying to give Copper the best life we can. We want to make sure he can live a life without chronic pain, but we don’t have the income to make it happen alone. We hope Copper will stay with us, healthy and happy, for another 15+ years!

Felix

Felix is a 1 year old American Shorthair in North Las Vegas, NV, who needs $800 for Fluid Therapy & Feline Preventative Vaccination.

North Las Vegas, NV

I have never thought I was a cat person before. But when my baby Felix came into my life everything changed. He was a malnourished baby kitten who managed to get into my garage and he cuddled up to my legs super quickly. It felt like destiny and he was the sweetest kitten ever. Always kneading dough for the cat factory and making me laugh at his silly runs when he’s chasing a sock he stole. Unfortunately, my cat who we sometimes let out in our backyard was attacked by some neighboring strays. He had scratches on his neck and ended up getting bitten on the tail. His usual energetic self became more lethargic and his tail has gone completely stiff. Went to Camino Al Norte Clinic, who’s staff was very nice, but as a college student, I could not afford these quotes for livable treatment. My baby Felix is quite literally a baby. He likes dressing up occasionally and likes to be held like a baby. My sister recently had a kid and they are quite literally Irish twins. I hope that they get more time together. My cat is very special in that, he loves to talk. He’s a yapper just like me and if he was human, he’d be make it big as a rapper or maybe a podcaster. I’m a university student paying off her tuition by myself. I come from a low income immigrant family. I want to make my family proud and Felix is now a part of that. I want him to see all my big firsts like graduation and my first big girl job so I can buy him every treat!

Handsome

Handsome is a 1.5 month old Mix-Breed in Aurora, CO, who needs $2,000 for Closed-Reduction.

Aurora, CO

My 6-week-old puppy, Handsome, has a dislocated hip and urgently needs treatment. He is my heart, my comfort, and my only joy during this hard time. Recently my boyfriend lost his job, and now I have lost mine. We are homeless, struggling to survive, and I cannot afford his care. Please help Handsome get the chance to heal and live the happy life he deserves. Handsome has a dislocated hip—an emergency that leaves him in constant pain and unable to walk properly. At his age, every hour matters to prevent permanent damage or surgery. Watching him hurt shatters me. He’s my baby, my reason to push forward through everything, and I feel helpless. He depends on me, and I’m desperate to give him the care he deserves. Handsome came into my life at a time when everything felt like it was falling apart. Despite being so young, he has this gentle spirit that makes me feel seen and loved when I feel invisible. What cemented our bond was how quickly he became my comfort—curling up on me when I cried, wagging his little tail like I was his whole world. He gives me hope when I have nothing else. I’m struggling after both my boyfriend and I lost our jobs and our home, and I can’t afford the care Handsome urgently needs. Having him healthy again would mean everything—he’s my comfort, my joy, and my reason to keep going. Seeing him heal would give me hope too.
