Jakie Ontko is a 8-year-old Longhair Chihuahua in Cincinnati , OH, who needs $2,000 for Luxated Patella Surgery.

I was blessed with my Jakie Boy July 2014 I wanted a small dog for my family so bad and the opportunity approached. My cousins grandmother had a set of long hair chihuahuas and they were expecting she asked if I'd like one since I was related he was free she sent me pic's of those they had left & I picked out my little guy right away! Soon after they dropped him off and it was love at first sight! Jakie is king of the castle and he shall be treated as one! No seriously he is loved and very spoiled he really only likes mom though but I've researched his breed and its very common their a one person kinda breed so makes sense. We love him so very much and he is quite healthy we're going through a tough time his poor leg. He isn't my perky anymore he deserves a longer life this dog is my baby Jake knows heart aches he lost his babies and their mother (his love) to Parvo 12/25/2016 and he lost his brother his best bud april 2022 I can still see him grieve for him as he did for Bella he lost his baby sister in 2018 we rescued her. He smiles! When I come home from work each day he is so excited to see me I feel so special Jakie has a disease where his knee is slipping outta place he walks with his hind right leg up mostly due to not wanting to put pressure on it he is on medication but desperately needs surgery we go to ameila animal hospital we love it there jake can be impossible going to the vet let's just say it's not his favorite place I am head of household my son is 18 we live in a 2 bedroom apartment I am a waitress I've worked at the same restaurant eight years. Luna

Luna is a 1-year-old French Bulldog in Long Beach , CA, who needs $1,352 for Tooth Extraction & Gingival Flap surgery.

Long Beach, CA

My baby/best friend, Luna has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. I needed a companion as I was about to make my first independent out of state move as a young adult, and we found each other. 😊 we are now living in Southern California together, where she found her furry best friend/roommate, bean the husky. Our bond is special (she is a covid puppy lol) and she’s attached to my hip. Luna loves humans! Nothing makes her happier than being by your side, getting love and just relaxing. If you’re happy, she’s happy. I work from home, and the majority of her time is spent at my feet underneath my desk. She has to be touching me at all times so she can keep tabs on me. When she’s not with me, she playing with bean, my rooomates husky/her best friend. She loves big dogs! Luna is a comedian and the most jealous dog I have ever met! She loves to be praised— almost to a fault. She will mirror another dog’s actions if she sees you are giving them attention because she demands all eyes on her. She also snores like nothing I’ve ever heard before — if you heard it and just had to guess, you’d think she was a fully grown man. Luna is a heavy chewer— she’s a bully breed. Despite my best efforts to buy safe toys, luna ended up fracturing a molar. The molar has since become infected, and her gum line above this tooth has formed an infection. She needs this tooth extracted ASAP so infection doesn’t spread to her jaw and other teeth, and to finally relieve the discomfort she’s been experiencing. I have a wellness plan for all preventative care, but unexpected events like this are major expenses for me— I am 21 years old, living on my own away from my home state and financially independent. Since this is time sensitive, I don’t have a lot of time to save and budget.

Reigny Dae

Reigny Dae is a 9-year-old Pug in Bangor who needs $2,000 for Multiple Surgeries.

Bangor

In June of 2022 (this year) my daughter went to stay in NYC with her best friend. Her friend’s sister had moved out abruptly leaving behind 2 dogs that had lived most of their life crated. Chickie (reigns mother) had a seizure one night and had to be put down. My daughter asked me if I would consider taking Reign so she wasn’t alone and had care. Reign sleeps with me, when I have to travel for work she is sad but she sleeps with my daughter who she’s known for 3 years. Her favorite place to be found when missing is in the clothes hamper. She loves car rides (surprising for a dog that never saw outside. But as long as it means going somewhere I’m going then she dances waiting to be carried to the car. Oh little Miss Reign … she wakes in the morning almost trying to crawl inside your skin because she’s happy to see you again even though she slept next to you all night. She’s great with the guilt eyes if you ever head to the other side of the door even for a second. If there’s a bag on a floor it’s going to become a bed. Honestly after 9 years of limited contact any touch and attention she smiles I knew when I brought her home the last day of June that she had health problems. You can see her growth in the pics. It didn’t deter me … I wanted to show her all the love I could so she’d know happy. It took until 8/24/2022 for her first visit but we got the prognosis of tumors consistent with cancer and a hernia that has her spleen inside it(the large growth) … vets are Penobscot Veterinary Services. I’m trying to get a business up and running. It would be hard to pay a lot for a surgery right now. But watching Reign suffer through cancer when we could remove the tumors and hope for a better outcome would be the best option. Even without surgery there will be ongoing care

Springer

Springer is a 11-year-old Black lab mix in Aurora, CO, who needs $2,000 for Soft Tissue Surgery-Mass Removal.

Aurora, CO

I was gifted Springer back in 2010 from a very dear friend while going through a very difficult period in life. From day 1, he has taught me so many lessons in life & easily became my best friend. I finally got him a fur sister in 2015, they are inseparable. They are my kids and its been just us 3 for many years. Springer is such a nurturing animal and is always protecting the house and me. Springer is definitely the rule maker & breaker at home. He loves to lay on the balcony in the sun people watching. He is a constant loving presence & reminder of safety in our home. Since a pup he has always greeted everyone with a shoe as if to say "Hi & welcome" To know Springer is to love him. My boy is very talkative & attentive & protective of me. If he hears me sniffling he comes running wit kisses thinking I'm upset. He truly has such a genuine love for people & has been my lifesaver and rock the last 12 years. He still runs & jumps into his human dads arms when he sees him and wrestles wit his sis. He has hilarious butt, jump, spin ninja moves he still uses to win against his sister Springer has a large tumor on his upper back leg. It's been diagnosed as soft tissue sarcoma & is growing rapidly. The size has tripled only since his diagnosis 2 weeks ago. Time is crucial!! It has not spread and needs to be removed by surgery. I have his appt set for June 7th. Other than this, Springer is in above average health for his age & is certain to have more years left in him. I was laid off in January. Due 2 many obstacles finding work took awhile. I waited 17 weeks for any kind of unemployment help. With no income for 3 months I was very behind. Im caught up & now employed but no savings or extra to cover this cost. Please help me save Springer.

Alpha Two Socks

Alpha Two Socks is a 3-year-old Pitbull mix Dog in Shelton, WA, who needs $1,300 for Abdominal exploration.

Shelton, WA

This dog was given to us as a puppy. He has been a huge part of our lives for the past 3 yrs. We live with my dad because we can't afford a rental. My family has undergone medical scares and losses since January of last year. Including my mother in December This dog has helped us through it all. We need him. Alpha Two Socks is named after my son's then current favorite movie and character from.my dads...dances with wolves. He loves to play with his ball outside, play with our boys inside and attacks rocks in the rivers we camp by. He protects our family, even from each other. He hates yelling. He understands the difference in how to play with adults and kids.especially my little 3 yr old. Alpha is very smart. He suckles on his stuffies still. He amazes me with how his behavior changes when hes outside at night with my husband. He knows what my husband means by a click of his tongue. He insists on shoving himself between people's knees so we have to scratch his butt. When people sit on our floor (especially me and our 10 yr old) he will come plop his rear on our lap to snuggle Our problem is that in september( don't ask why it took so long, he didn't show symptoms until a month ago)is that he swallowed a silicone bbq brush. And we didn't know it. he had life saving surgery on the 14th ofApril. They successfully removed the obstruction but yesterday the 17th of April, he showed signs of an infection. he may need surgery again if the infection is internal Right now my husband has applied for disability but has not been officially approved. we are a family of5 on tanf, living with my disabled father. We have already exhausted our family members for help with the surgery. we have no way to pay for another. help me save him

Tator

Tator is a one-month-old Golden Retriever puppy in Grant, MI, who needs $1,500 for urgent surgery.

Grant, MI

This little tot was born out of my litter her mother was tested for lack of folic acid as soon as I found out tator had a cleft palete. She has been a fighter since day 2 we didn't notice day one there was anything wrong it was day 2 that caught our attention everyone else grew and she didnt. Then we noticed she wasn't latching on. It was the next we found the cleft palete. So in the beginning she had to be fed by a very tiny dropper with a very long nipple every 2 hrs she slept in bed with me. During the day I would take her to work and feed her in between. She went every where I went to make sure we never miss a feeding. Then we moved on to bigger food. Which brought us to the specialist vet. She has to have it made a little different then the other pups yet. She is spunky but yet a cuddled she loves all animals she follows you every where comes to her name. She loves to play with little cat toys believe it or not she also loves the toys that rattle.she also loves to play with her mother and her grandmother the most one on one time. And then back to sleepy cuddle time Tator has what they call a Secondary Cleft palete it's where the hard and soft sport down the centerhave a spilt all the way down but no cleft lip. She will have to have surgery to repair this I would love for us to help out her new parent who is getting her. He picked her out from birth still knowing she had a medical issue said I love her. So she is going to the perfect home. This new puppy owner just got a new job. Just moved into a apartment. And now his car has to have somethings repair he plans to put tator first. But I want to make sure this helps him out.

Buddy

Buddy is a 3-year-old Dachshund mix in Dallas, TX, who needs $1,850 for Medical Treatment.

Dallas, TX

During a winter ice storm this sweet terrified little doggie was waiting on a porch for his previous family who had abandoned him when they were evicted. With the help of dedicated neighbors we were able to catch him and take him in. He was so skinny and it took a while for him to trust us. He is now family. My 2 boys adore him and we can’t imagine our home without our sweet Buddy. Buddy can jump so high and he does make everyone laugh by bouncing up and down like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He really shows that he loves his new family and we love him. He is the sweetest most loving dog. He has huge baby eyes and the softest ears. He loves attention and will guard our house and family like we are royalty. He’s really helped both my boys with invaluable life lessons. He chases every squirrel, bird and suspected living creature he hears. Buddy naps like a newborn baby, but really most of the time he is very busy and always curious about everything. He was nervous and scared when we first took him in but now runs the roost. He’s very smart. We were just about to start working on getting him better socialized around other dogs so that he can be on walks safely. With no warning, Buddy became unresponsive and collapsed. We are now 3 days in the ER and it seems he was stung or poisoned by something that sent him into anaphylactic shock and his tummy is shredded. The ER is working so hard to get him stable. Today they said he’s really been fighting and has made amazing progress. We were just unprepared for a young animal to have such a serious issue. We consider ourselves fortunate given Covid, but we did lose 1 income, which won’t be replaced since we now care for not just our 2 boys, but also an elderly parent. We thank our lucky stars, but always fighting to get ahead. This large vet bill is incredibly stressful.

Angel

Angel is a 9-year-old Mix in Manchester, NH, who needs $2,000 for an Ear Canal Ablation.

MANCHESTER, NH

I purchased Angel as a gift for my sister Betty, when Angel was only 8 weeks old. At that time, Betty was at Stage 3 Kidney Failure. Angel gave her years of faithful companionship. Betty passed away in June of 2021, due to Renal Failure. Angel faced placement in an Animal Shelter. My heart knew Angel's faithfulness deserved so much more. 3 Ladies under my care offered to "Foster" Angel. Fostering Angel met helping her find a home. Angel was sad & withdrawn. I watched as they nurtured her back to life. She was happy again. Playing with toys, running out side & snuggling to sleep. After weeks, someone asked to take Angel. We all talked. The Ladies asked "Can we Adopt her?"l just got over the loss of my sister.Leaving could break her heart again. Yes was the best answer for! Angel give what she receives from the Ladies. She has added a special quality in the lives of Rolita, Evelyn & Julie -Her "Adoptive Mothers" Together,Life Balances. She loves chasing leaves in the yard! The smell of Coffee in the morning is like her Alarm for Breakfast. Angel sits like a Prarie Dog to get your attention for treats. Angel arrived with an ongoing ear infection. The only reason we know is because of paper work we found in her box. She had received 3-4 treatments of antibiotics since in the ladies care,to no prevail. She requires Surgery to remove an Ear Canal. Angel's file is under - Angel Boston Center for Advanced Veterinary Care. Angel belongs to Rolita, Evelyn and Julie. Their SSI is used for Room & Board & monthly personal needs. What they lack in finances, they make up in Love. Angels can attest to that! They worry about Angel.Angel will be so much "Happier"if this taken care of
