The veterinarian who initially cared for him had assured the rescue he was a healthy puppy, but it quickly became clear that this wasn’t the case. Bear had lost 20 pounds in just one month, was severely dehydrated, and suffered from constant vomiting and diarrhea. After being rushed to the hospital, he was diagnosed with intussusception—a life-threatening condition where part of the intestine folds into itself, causing extreme pain and dangerous complications.
