Penelope Got Her Second Chance. Help Give One to the Next Animal In Need.

Penelope’s story shows what can happen when compassion arrives in time. Waggle exists because no animal should lose their chance to heal simply because lifesaving veterinary care is out of reach. Donate today to help more pets facing medical crises—and the rescues fighting for them—get the care they need to survive, recover, and begin again.

At First, All Anyone Could Do Was Help Penelope Survive One More Day.

She had been found wandering the streets with both eyes ruptured and her neck twisted to one side. Severe trauma had damaged her nervous system, leaving her unable to walk without stumbling in circles.

She was only a kitten. And her body was already exhausted from fighting.

Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society rushed Penelope into care. The first goal was survival. Then it was getting her stable enough to leave the hospital. Then gaining weight. Building strength. Learning to trust. Learning to play.

Today, Penelope is doing incredibly well. She stands taller. She is stronger. She has started her vaccines, and more of her sweet little personality appears every day.

This isn’t the fairytale version of rescue where every wound simply disappears. Penelope still needs medication for her neurological condition, daily eye drops, and continued veterinary care.

This is what real rescue looks like: slow, difficult, uncertain—and completely worth it.

Because Penelope made it.

The critically injured kitten who once struggled to take a few steps is finally getting the chance to enjoy her life. And every person who donated, shared her story, or cheered her on helped make that possible.

Thank you for refusing to give up on her. ❤️
