The moment rescuers at One By One Animal Advocates laid eyes on Roxie, sitting in a shelter, they knew they had to save her!

Her skin is itchy, leathery, and missing hair. Her teeth are in horrible shape. Her nails are overgrown to the point that walking is just cruel and painful.

"The senior years of an animal are usually filled with lazy days on the couch, enjoying the snuggles from their humans, and maybe an extra treat or two between meal times," Heather A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "Roxie doesn't appear to have been able to experience the golden years just yet. Her years have been filled with neglect."

One By One needs help paying Roxie's medical bills so she can finally be fixed up. They hope the best years of her life are right around the corner!

"Roxie feels miserable physically, but that doesn't stop her from being a sweetheart to the staff at the animal hospital," Heather says. "Once her skin starts to heal, and her dental work is complete, she will be on the way to recovery and, hopefully, find her forever family. One that will never neglect her again."

One by One is comprised entirely of volunteers who work to reduce domestic animal homelessness within their community and euthanasia rates. They stepped in for Roxie to give her her golden years back. Will you help them?
