Pipe Creek, TX • 10th Life Surgical Center dba A DOGGIE 4 YOU

Pippa is a beautiful and loving collie at the 10th Life Surgical Center dba as A DOGGIE 4 YOU, a dog rescue just outside San Antonio, TX in the beautiful Hill Country. In 2019, Pippa was an owner surrender when an elderly couple were dying of cancer. The couple's one condition for surrender was that Pippa not be rehomed, but insisted that she remain at A DOGGIE 4 YOU as the rescue's mascot. Pippa's gentle and sweet nature made her a favorite of the rescue's volunteers and staff. There has never been a dog or person that Pippa did not like. She has a special talent for calming the rescue's homeless, motherless puppies. Pippa also interacts well with people grieving the recent loss of their dog. Patricia Godkin, the rescue's founder and Director, says "Pippa is a very special dog." On August 18th, Pippa's medical bill is $12,444.38 and rising by 3K daily. Due to the virus our nonprofit's income/donations are limited and strained. The need is great for prayers and money for her to survive this horrible ordeal. Please help as Pippa deserves to live! Yes, rattlesnake bites--5 in all! On Thursday evening, August 13th, while in the rescue's exercise yard Pippa was bitten 3 times on her head and 2 times inside her mouth. She was rushed to MissionVet Hospital in San Antonio and given an antivenom injection. She was given 2 more antivenom shots & IV pain meds, but albumin levels were off, and refused food. She is now eating and walking a little. Just like all dogs Pippa has a cute quirk that sets her apart from other dogs. While most dogs stand up to eat, Pippa with her long sleek legs, always lays down on her side to eat! It took some getting use to at first, but now it is normal to see her lying down beside her food bowl. This mannerism has not changed while hospitalized for her recent rattlesnake bites.
