Thaniel
Help Thaniel Finish the Fight for a Pain-Free Future
Somerset, WI • Coco's Heart Dog Rescue
Thaniel was found in a heartbreaking condition after being hit by a car on a cold January day in North Dakota. He had multiple fractures, torn skin, and no one to turn to. That’s when Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue welcomed him with open arms, bringing him to Wisconsin and giving him a second chance. His injuries were extensive: a displaced sacral fracture, a badly damaged knee full of debris, and a tail that couldn’t be saved. He needed advanced surgery, and fast. He had a difficult and delicate operation to explore and repair his injured stifle and amputate his tail. Thaniel also had a big surgery to repair his left leg. Through it all, Thaniel stayed gentle, sweet, and trusting. He didn’t fight the hands that helped him, he leaned into them. Now, Thaniel is exactly where he belongs. His foster mom, who fell in love and adopted him, is helping him heal in the safety of a forever home. But the truth is, he’s helping her too. She’s been facing some deep personal loss, and Thaniel’s quiet, comforting presence has brought light back into her world. His soft eyes, and his loyal heart is a reminder that healing comes in many forms. Coco’s Heart covered his initial procedures, but they need help to keep going. Thaniel’s not just a rescue story, he’s a story of love, of second chances, and of what’s possible when people step up for the voiceless. If you can, please donate. Let’s help him finish this journey pain-free and surrounded by the care he deserves. Update 8/21/25 Thaniel is recovering beautifully with his adopted mom, soaking up much love and care!

Louboutin
Little Louboutin Needs Help Fixing His Chronic Ear Pain
Somerset, WI • Coco's Heart Dog Rescue
Louboutin, lovingly called Louie by his foster, has spent most of his young life in chronic pain. At just three years old, he’s already endured countless ear infections that have left his ear canals severely damaged. Despite months of care, medications, and vet visits, nothing has been able to truly stop the pain, but he is now with Coco's Heart Dog Rescue who is is determined to help him. Louie is now completely deaf, the damage too far gone to reverse. But there’s hope: two specialized surgeries, called total ear canal ablations (TECA), will finally remove the diseased tissue and bring Louie the relief he so desperately needs. These procedures are scheduled at Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic with a trusted team ready to give him his chance at comfort. His foster, who lives over two hours away, has never once hesitated to make the long drive to get Louie the care he needs. Through every setback, every painful flare-up, Louie has shown incredible strength and a gentle, trusting heart. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him in a big way. Please consider donating to help cover the cost of Louie’s double TECA surgeries. This is his shot at a pain-free life, and your support can make all the difference. 3/21/26 Update Thanks to all of the generous donations, Louie has fully healed and is doing great, even without being able to hear! We are very happy to share that he has been adopted by his foster!

Barry
Barry’s Brave Heart: Help This Sweet Pup Heal
Somerset, WI • Coco's Heart Dog Rescue
Barry may be small, but his journey has already been filled with enormous challenges. Transferred from an overcrowded shelter in North Dakota, this sweet Pitbull mix was welcomed into Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue. He arrived with life-threatening heart defects that needed immediate help. Thanks to an incredible foster family in Minnesota, Barry now has a home full of love, patience, and 24/7 care—just what a fragile pup like him needs. In April, Barry underwent life-saving heart surgery, a Pulmonary Balloon Valvuloplasty, at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. It was a critical step toward giving him a future. Born with multiple heart defects, including Pulmonic Stenosis and a Ventricular Septal Defect, Barry still needs medication twice a day, constant monitoring, and strict rest until his recheck this July. He may also need further treatment before it’s safe to proceed with routine care like neutering. Through it all, Barry has remained endlessly sweet. He greets each new day with a wagging tail and a soft heart, never letting the pain or restrictions dull his spirit. His foster family says he’s calm, loving, and a true joy to be around. He’s the kind of puppy who just melts into your arms, who brings quiet happiness even in the hardest moments. He is a little warrior with a lot of love to give. Barry’s surgery is costly. Every dollar makes a difference in helping Coco's Heart Dog Rescue cover his care and continue saying yes to dogs like him. Please consider donating. With your help, Barry’s story won’t end in struggle. It will be one of hope, healing, and the second chance he so clearly deserves. Update Our special needs buddy, Barry isn't so needy after all (woohoo!) After completing a life saving heart surgery this handsome puppy has flourished and is doing great! Barry is now in a foster home as he continues to recover and is such a delight to have around.
