Corrales, NM • Companion Animal Rescue and Medical Assistance (CARMA)
Beautiful Lizzy had a rough start. With her sister and brother she was subjected to ongoing abuse by the children in the home where she lived. In 2013 I was contacted by a concerned neighbor and asked to take the three cats in order to save their lives. Lizzy, the smallest and shyest, is still living with CARMA. We think she was one or two years old at the time we took her in. Lizzy has spent her life living in the Carma shelter and is very much loved by all who volunteer there. She has many more productive and happy days ahead of her. It would be great if we could find a forever home for her so she will know the love of a good family. All of our cats at the shelter deserve to be happy. She is scheduled for surgery to repair the condition which will clear her eyes and an able her to live pain-free. Our request is for funds to underwrite this necessary surgery. She has developed red flaky skin on her face and ears and serious discharge in both eyes. After many veterinarian visits we have confirmed that Lizzy has herpes and has caused her eyes to swell. She needs to have keratectomy surgery that will hopefully will clear up the inflammation and scarring in both eyes. Lizzy has a very engaging personality. She will let you know when her cage needs to be clean. She is very vocal and very happy to see the volunteers. Lizzy puts a smile on everyone’s face when they see her. She loves to be petted and made a fuss over. She is loving and carefree. She deserves the very best that we can give her.
