It's heartbreaking to think about the suffering innocent Nova endured throughout its short life. He has been the victim of cruel abuse that has left him traumatized and broken. He was surrendered to Fly Away Home Rescue before it was too late. "We’re going to do everything in our power to make the cruelty and neglect he suffered up to him. We will change his world around," says Pam. His condition brought tears to the eyes of even the most experienced medical staff - It is believed he spent his life confined to an unimaginably small cage outside in freezing winter temperatures. This has left him with stunted growth and deformed hind legs and spine. One leg had also been broken, requiring surgery. His jaw is permanently damaged beyond repair, and his teeth are crooked from gnawing on wires as if trying desperately to escape his prison. Scars, bruises, and bald spots plague his skin, and his ribs are showing. The poor puppy had even suffered from painful entropion requiring urgent surgery to save his eyes. It is obvious that he has been suffering terribly. This sweet boy has a very long road ahead, but he’s a little warrior. "He even gave kisses to the vet tech while waiting for the vet. He’s so amazingly sweet, gentle and loving with a glowing inner spirit that enabled him to survive his torment." Rescue groups work tirelessly for our four-legged friends, but they can't do it alone.
