Bella
Bella needs you now.
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
This sweet 5-year-old Pit Bull came into Have a Heart Rescue's care hoping for a fresh start, but her veterinary visit revealed heartbreaking news. Bella tested positive for heartworms, Lyme disease, and Ehrlichia, all of which require treatment and careful monitoring. As if that wasn't enough, their veterinarian also discovered a concerning mass that had to be surgically removed and sent for biopsy. While they're praying for good news, they're preparing ourselves for the possibility that it could be cancer. Despite everything, Bella's tail still wags, and she greets everyone with the same gentle spirit that reminds them she's not ready to give up. Her veterinary care—including vaccinations, a ProHeart injection to begin the slow-kill heartworm treatment, antibiotics, steroids, surgery to remove the mass, and biopsy testing—totaled $629. Unfortunately, this comes at a time when our rescue is already carrying more than $8,000 in outstanding veterinary debt from saving animals with nowhere else to turn. We're asking for your help so they can continue giving dogs like Bella the medical care they desperately need. Every donation, no matter the size, helps cover lifesaving treatment and allows them to keep saying "yes" to the next animal in need. Your kindness gives dogs like Bella hope for a healthier future, and for that, we're incredibly grateful. 7/8/26 Update: Update on Bella biopsy BELLA UPDATE 💗🐾 We got Bella’s biopsy results back and unfortunately the lump was mast cell cancer. But here’s the part that matters most: when the vet talked with us, he said no matter what, Bella still has a long life ahead. The cancer was completely removed, and he feels strongly that something else will take Bella from us long before this ever does. The lump is gone. The area is healing nicely and Bella is doing great. She’s still her sweet, goofy, tail-wagging self. She has a ways to go on healing, but she’s handling it like the strong girl she is. We’re so relieved to hear the prognosis is good. Bella isn’t going anywhere anytime soon 💕 Thank you to everyone who sent prayers, good vibes, and support while we waited on results. It meant the world to us + to Bella. We’ll keep you posted on her healing, but for now - she’s resting, healing, and ready for more pets and treats. #HaveAHeartRescue #BellaStrong #MastCellUpdate #GoodNews #HealingJourney #RescueDog #CancerFree #She’sGotThis #WashingtonNC #Grateful \--- Bella says thank you for loving her. She’s already planning her comeback to causing trouble 😄

10 Puppies
10 puppies are in need of your help.
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
When a community member reached out about ten tiny puppies living in heartbreaking conditions next door, we knew we couldn’t look away. The puppies weren’t receiving proper care, and their future was uncertain. We immediately stepped in to see how we could help. After speaking with the owner, he agreed to surrender them so they could have a real chance at a better life. Even more incredible—a rescue up North is ready and willing to take all ten of them. Now, this is where you come in. Before these sweet babies can travel to safety, they must receive their vaccines, parvo testing, and individual health certificates required for transport. We’ve already begun the process, but the cost of vetting ten puppies at once is overwhelming—and it’s an expense we simply cannot cover alone. These puppies are so close to their happily ever after. They just need this final bridge to get there. Any amount helps. We’ll be working hard to get them ready for their journey. Thank you for helping us turn a story that began in hardship into one that ends in hope. 5/18/26 Update: Look at the cuteness look at these sweet babies all tucked in

Gobber
Gobber's stomach flipped--will you help him through recovery?
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
Gobber is a five-year-old Mastiff with a gentle soul and a heart as big as his paws. Without warning, his stomach flipped—a life-threatening emergency that can turn fatal in hours. There was no time to wait, no time to hesitate. He was rushed into emergency surgery, and $3,000 later, his life was saved. We are beyond grateful he made it through. But the financial strain of an unexpected emergency like this is heavy, especially when caring for multiple animals. If you’re able to help, we are asking for donations to assist with Gobber’s life-saving surgery and recovery care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden and ensures we can continue being there when dogs like Gobber need us most. Thank you. 4/25/26 Update Gobber is doing good. Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
This sweet pittie lost her owner, and with that, the only home she knew. When her family wasn’t able to take her in, her future became uncertain. Thankfully, a kind-hearted young woman stepped up without hesitation to keep her safe. What she didn’t know at the time was that she was not spayed… and was currently expecting. Now, this gentle girl is carrying a full litter, and while she’s being loved and cared for, the reality is that the journey ahead will require more support than one person can provide alone. She is growing bigger every day, and soon there will be tiny lives depending on her and on all of us. Have a Heart Rescue is committed to making sure Mama and her puppies get everything they need: safe delivery, proper veterinary care, and a healthy start to life. But we can’t do it without you. Your support will help cover medical care for this sweet pittie, as well as food, supplies, and care for her puppies once they arrive. Neonatal kittens
Two neonatal kittens rescued from a hoarding situation need round-the-clock care.
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
When the first call came in, it sounded like just one tiny kitten in trouble. Have a Heart rescued it from a hoarding situation where a man simply didn’t realize that his first cat needed to be spayed. Before long, one cat became many. Among them was a baby-faced mother—only six months old herself—who gave birth before she was even grown. She didn’t know how to care for her kittens. She wouldn’t nurse them. After they rescued the first neonatal kitten, they got another call about a second one. These fragile babies are now safe, but they require round-the-clock care—bottle feedings through the night, constant monitoring, warmth, and medical support to help them survive these critical first weeks of life. Soon, they will need vaccinations and, when they’re old enough, spay and neuter surgeries to ensure this cycle doesn’t continue. Their lives are just beginning, and they deserve more than to be born into overcrowding and neglect. We are asking for donations to help cover their formula, medical care, vaccinations, and future surgeries. Every dollar helps keep these tiny hearts beating and gives them a real chance at healthy, loving homes. If you’re able to help, your support truly makes the difference between survival and a second chance. 4/2/26 Update As you can see the babies are thriving! Charlie
Please help this sweet boy get the fast kill treatment for heart worms.
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
Charlie is only two years old—a young Plott Hound mix with so much life still ahead of him, but has unfortunately, tested heartworm positive. Heartworm is a serious and potentially fatal condition if left untreated. It slowly damages the heart and lungs, making even simple things—like running, playing, or just breathing comfortably—more and more difficult. And for a young dog like Charlie, it’s heartbreaking to know his life could be cut short without help. The good news is that there \\\_is\\\_ a solution and Have a Heart Rescue acted quickly. Their vet recommended the fast-kill heartworm treatment, which will give Charlie the best chance at a full recovery and a long, healthy life. The cost for this life-saving treatment is $630. Charlie deserves the chance to run freely, to play without pain, and to grow into the happy, healthy dog he was meant to be. But we cannot do this without support. We are asking for donations to help cover Charlie’s treatment and give him the future he deserves. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to being heartworm-free and ready for the loving home waiting for him. Thank you for helping Charlie get his second chance. 4/5/26 Update Charlie is doing okay. He is coughing when he gets excited. He is just a young pup and deserves so much in life. He went from stray to shelter to almost a home until that fell through too. Now he is fighting these heart worms. And he can’t do it on his own. It takes a village to help every fur baby 5/27/26 Update: Charlie playing Look at this sweet boy! He deserves all the love in this world. He’s big and goofy as you can tell. He is doing good with a treatment that we are trying per vet for heartworms 6/7/26 Update: Look at him go Look How good he is doing

Hoarding Cats
Please help this rescue save over 20 cats.
Washington, NC • Have A Heart Rescue
Inside a small, overcrowded home, more than twenty cats have been quietly surviving—unseen, unvetted, and multiplying faster than anyone can keep up. Their owner, a disabled veteran, loves them deeply. But love alone hasn’t been enough to give them the care they need. He knows it. And that’s why he’s finally asking for help. He won’t leave for the assisted living care he needs until he knows his cats are safe. Until they are healthy. Until they have a chance at real homes. So Have a Heart Rescue lovingly stepped in. So far, rescuers have counted at least twenty cats. Some are shy, some are curious, all of them deserving of a better life than what they’ve known. But before they can be adopted, they need proper medical care—exams, vaccinations, and most importantly, spay and neuter surgeries to stop the cycle. The cost for females will be about $150–$200 each, and the cost for the males will be about $125–$140 each. Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving these cats a fresh start—and giving their owner peace of mind so he can move forward, knowing they will be safe and loved. If you can help, please consider donating. Your support will provide the medical care these cats desperately need and help place them into homes where they can finally thrive. Let's help these cats and their owner all move forward with peace and compassion.
