Dumped and Suffering, Myrtle Needs Help With Chronic Skin Disease

Floresville, TX • HEARTS 2 HOMES RESCUE INC

Dumped and suffering from severe skin problems, Myrtle was left to face an uncertain future without the family who should have been there for her. Thankfully, Hearts 2 Homes Rescue stepped in for this sweet girl, but it quickly became clear that Myrtle needed far more than a safe place to land. Her skin was in terrible condition, and as veterinarians began investigating her health, they discovered additional concerns involving her bladder. At first, there was a frightening possibility that Myrtle could have cancer. The rescue pursued extensive veterinary care, including multiple ultrasounds, to determine what was happening and what this girl would need. Thankfully, her bladder issues now appear to be under control, but Myrtle's medical journey isn't over. Her skin problems are ongoing and are expected to require lifelong medication and management. Hearts 2 Homes Rescue has already spent a significant amount on diagnostics and veterinary care to get Myrtle to this point, and they are committed to continuing to give her the care she needs. It's difficult to imagine that a dog this loving was ever dumped. Myrtle is a 3 year old Heeler mix who is happiest cuddled up beside her people. She's wonderful with kids, enjoys other dogs after a proper introduction, walks nicely on a leash, and absolutely loves attention and belly rubs. While other Heelers may dream of herding livestock, Myrtle would much rather herd blankets, claim the softest spot on the couch, and perfect the art of napping. Donations to Myrtle's campaign will help Hearts 2 Homes Rescue with the veterinary expenses from her extensive testing and the continued treatment needed to manage her chronic skin condition. Someone may have given up on Myrtle, but her rescue didn't. Please consider donating to help give this sweet girl the medical care, comfort, and future she should have had all along.

Help Mama June Through Lifesaving Heartworm Treatment

Floresville, TX • HEARTS 2 HOMES RESCUE INC

After caring for eight puppies, this sweet mama is now facing a serious health battle of her own. June came into the care of Hearts 2 Homes Rescue with eight puppies depending on her. While the rescue stepped in to give this little family the safety and care they needed, they discovered that June was heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Without treatment, the worms can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs, and other organs. June has already spent so much of her energy being a mama, and now she needs veterinary care to fight the disease affecting her own body. Thankfully, June has started her journey toward beating heartworm, but treatment takes time, careful veterinary management, and significant expense. Hearts 2 Homes Rescue is committed to seeing her through it so that this diagnosis does not stand between June and the healthy future she deserves. Once her treatment is behind her, the hope is that June can finally move forward toward finding a forever family of her own. She may need a little patience as she adjusts to a new home, but given the chance to feel safe and loved, this sweet mama has so much waiting for her on the other side of treatment. Donations to June’s campaign will help Hearts 2 Homes Rescue cover the veterinary care needed to treat her heartworm disease and give her the best chance at a healthy future. June spent her time as a mama taking care of eight puppies. Now, she needs people willing to show up for her. Please consider donating to help June fight heartworm and reach the next chapter she has been waiting for.
