About

While cats make up the majority of the animals we help, we never turn away an animal in need. We specialize in the cases others often can't take on—the starving, the abused, the abandoned, the injured, and the forgotten. Our team ventures into dangerous and challenging environments to rescue animals living in unimaginable conditions. Whether it means spending hours patiently trapping a frightened cat in an unsafe area or providing emergency care to a critically ill animal, we do whatever it takes to give them a second chance. In addition to rescue work, we are committed to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs and the ongoing care and maintenance of feral cat colonies. By reducing suffering at its source, we help create healthier, safer communities for both cats and people.

Help Floyd See a Future Without Pain

Johnston, RI • Heavenlee's Rescue

After the owner of a hoarding house passed away, Floyd was discovered living among far too many animals in conditions where proper veterinary care had been absent for years. Like so many animals rescued from hoarding situations, he had been quietly suffering without anyone to advocate for him. Today, the neglect he endured is painfully visible. Behind his damaged eyes is a sweet cat who has lived with severe, untreated eye disease for more than four years. The pain and discomfort he experiences every day are difficult to imagine, yet Floyd remains gentle and trusting despite everything he has been through. His condition has become so advanced that he urgently needs evaluation by a veterinary ophthalmology specialist. While we won't know the full extent of treatment needed until his appointment, it is very likely that one or both of his eyes will need to be removed to finally relieve his suffering and give him the chance to live without constant pain. As a small rescue, we are committed to helping Floyd, but the cost of specialized veterinary care is significant. We cannot turn our backs on him now—not after he has spent so much of his life waiting for someone to help. Please consider making a donation and sharing Floyd's campaign. Together, we can give this sweet boy the comfort, care, and second chance he has waited so long to receive. 6/24/26 Update Tomorrow is Floyd’s appointment with the veterinary ophthalmologist, and while we are holding onto hope, we are preparing ourselves for the very real possibility that both of his eyes may need to be removed. This is especially heartbreaking because Floyd’s condition could have been prevented with timely veterinary care. Instead, he endured years of severe neglect, leaving him in constant pain and discomfort. As a result, this sweet, gentle boy may lose his vision completely. Despite everything he has suffered, Floyd remains loving and trusting. Yet it is impossible not to see how much this ordeal has affected him. He is uncomfortable, withdrawn, and clearly struggling. No animal should have to endure the level of suffering that Floyd has experienced. We urgently need to get Floyd to his specialist appointment and provide the surgery and treatment he desperately needs. We are humbly asking for your compassion and support during this critical time. Every donation, share, and kind thought helps bring Floyd one step closer to a life free from pain. Thank you for caring about Floyd and for helping us give him the future he deserves. 6/26/26 Update: Floyd suffering more than we knew Hi, friends. Yesterday, Floyd was seen by veterinary ophthalmologist Dr. Binder. It was an incredibly difficult examination because he is in so much pain. The team struggled to administer eye drops, and for his safety, he had to be gently but securely wrapped so they could complete the exam. The news is heartbreaking. Floyd is completely blind. After enduring four years of untreated eye disease and neglect, both of his eyes must be surgically removed to finally free him from the constant pain he has been living with. In addition, he is in desperate need of extensive dental work, as his mouth is in very poor condition. It is devastating to think that Floyd lived like this for years, suffering every single day without receiving the medical care he so desperately needed. No animal should have to endure that kind of pain. We are committed to giving Floyd the chance at a life free from suffering, but we cannot do it without your help. His surgeries and ongoing medical care are significant, and every donation, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to the comfort and quality of life he deserves. Please continue to support Floyd's journey. He needs us now more than ever. Thank you for standing with him and giving him hope. 7/1/26 Update Hi, friends. First, we want to thank every single person who has been praying for Floyd, sharing his story, and supporting his journey. Your kindness means more than you know. Today, Floyd returned to the animal hospital to see his veterinarian. While we can't remember the exact medical name of one of his newly diagnosed conditions, we can tell you what the doctors found. This precious boy has been living with unimaginable pain for years. Despite everything he has endured, he continues to show us just how resilient and loving he is. There is a possibility that Floyd still has a small amount of vision in one eye, but he is in so much pain that it is nearly impossible to administer his eye medications. After examining him, it is the overwhelming feeling of both the veterinary team and the experienced rescuer caring for him that removing both of his severely damaged eyes is the kindest and most compassionate option. Our hearts break knowing how long he has suffered, but we are hopeful that this surgery will finally bring him the comfort he has been denied for so many years. We also believed Floyd would need extensive dental work, but the examination revealed something even more concerning. He has painful sores throughout his mouth eating at it, including on the roof of his mouth, caused by a serious inflammatory condition. These lesions have undoubtedly been another source of constant pain. He has now begun treatment and will require a lifelong monthly injection to help keep this condition under control and improve his quality of life. In just a few days, Floyd will undergo his eye surgery, and after that, his medical needs will continue to be addressed one step at a time. He has a long road ahead, but for the first time in years, there is hope that his pain can finally be relieved. Please don't forget about Floyd. His medical care is extensive, and every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue giving him the treatment he desperately needs. If you are able, please consider making a donation, sharing his story, or keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for standing beside Floyd and giving this sweet boy the chance to finally know a life without constant pain. ❤️ 7/2/26 Update: Medical Update urgent pls donate A Medical Update on Sweet Floyd Hi, friends. Twigs

Twigs is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Johnston, RI, who needs $500 for essential veterinary care.

Johnston, RI • Heavenlee's Rescue

Twigs and her four kittens were found living in an abandoned house, struggling to survive. Life on the streets is especially dangerous for young kittens, who are vulnerable to illness, parasites, predators, and harsh weather conditions. Thankfully, Twigs and her little family were rescued by Heavenlee's Rescue in Rhode Island before their situation became even more dire. Now safe in foster care, they have a chance at the happy future they deserve but they still need essential veterinary care, like wellness exams, vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, and parasite treatment/preventatives, before they can be adopted into loving homes. These services are critical for protecting Twigs and her kittens from common illnesses and ensuring they are healthy enough to begin their adoption journeys. Every rescue animal deserves a chance to thrive, and providing medical care for an entire feline family quickly adds up. Heavenlee's Rescue relies on the support of compassionate animal lovers to give cats like Twigs and her babies the care they need. With your help, this little family can leave their difficult past behind and take the next step toward safe, loving forever homes. 6/20/26 Update Hello everyone, We wanted to share a quick update on this family. They are all doing very well, and we're excited to announce that one of the kittens is being adopted today! Our remaining priority is having the mother cat spayed. Any donations to help cover her veterinary care are greatly appreciated. 7/14/26 Update Thank you, Waggle supporters! Because of your kindness, these rescued kittens have a bright future. Once abandoned with their mom, they're now safe, thriving, and the ones still with us are ready for adoption. ❤️

When this little family was found, they were huddled together on a pile of dirt, doing their best to survive. Momma cat was trying to protect her babies, but the kittens were already showing signs of illness, with their tiny eyes crusted shut from infection. Thankfully, they were rescued by Heavenlee's Rescue in Rhode Island and rushed to the animal hospital, where they received the medical care they desperately needed. They are now on medication and beginning their journey toward recovery, but their veterinary care is far from over. To give these kittens the healthy future they deserve, they still need vaccines, spay/neuter, and continued veterinary care. Your donation will help cover the cost of their care and ensure they have everything they need to grow strong and healthy so they can all be adopted into loving families.
