Onyx is the newest member of Law N Paws rescue to come in as a result of an animal cruelty case. Poor Onyx suffered from a paw fracture, and his owners at the time refused to provide him with medical treatment. Luckily Onyx was rescued and is now safe and getting the love and attention he needs to heal! Onyx is a brave little dog. Despite what he has been through, he has shown strength and resilience. Even though he was let down by humans in the past he still shows trust, and seems to be very happy that he is now with people who love him. He is handling all his vet visits like a champ and is staying just as hopeful as we are that he will recover soon. Onyx is so special because of what he overcame. He survived against the odds and despite the grievous injury to his leg, and still holds so much happiness. Onyx has the spirit to go on to be an incredible companion to some lucky person, and deserves a fighting chance to recover and finally experience a life of security and love with a forever family. Onyx has an injury to his paw which requires special orthopedic treatment due to its severity. Onyx's orthopedic doctor has advised that he will need 2 bridging plates inserted as there is not enough bone to repair the injury. In addition to this, he had casts and X-rays. He now has an estimated 4 more weeks of healing. His medical expenses will be in excess of $3,600 when all is said and done. Onyx is only one of the pups under the care of Law N Paws. We often work with the authorities to provide sanctuary for pets like Onyx. In order to continue this important work we rely on the generosity of people like you.
Aspen
Aspen is a 12-year-old Shitzu in El Paso, TX, who needs $600 for Eye Ulcer and Underlying Conditions.

Aspen is a wonderful 12 year old Shitzu who has had a very rough life. While we don't know everything she has been through in her 12 years on Earth, we do know that her most recent years were devastating. Aspen came to the Law N' Paws family after suffering severe neglect and abandonment. Luckily she has found her way to our sanctuary where she can begin to get the love and care she deserves. Despite everything Aspen has been through, she still holds her head up high. Aspen is an incredibly loving pup, she just wants cuddle and attention from everyone around her. Even though Aspen has many underlying conditions that need to be addressed, she is very patient with her diagnostics and treatments. She is happy to be safe and loved, and returns all the love she gets tenfold. Aspen is a fighter. She has been through untold trials and tribulations in her 12 years of life, finally making it to safety in her golden years. Despite everything, she has never given up hope, and has maintained the most incredible loving personality. Even in her pictures you can see her zest for life. She has so much love to give, and deserves the chance to live out her retirement in comfort. Aspen has many conditions to be addressed. First and most visibly is her eye. She has an ulcer on it that needs to be removed. In addition, the ulcer is abnormal, so it needs ongoing treatment. Her ears also need treatment for debris and infection. She has mammary masses that need attention, and an umbilical hernia. Finally, she has an enlarged heart and bladder stones. Law N' Paws helps many urgent cruelty cases from the El Paso Police Department. We rely on the support of donors to be able to help as many cases like Aspen's as possible.
