Help Us Spay & Neuter 15 Cats for "SpayPril"

Charlottesville, VA • Mr. Bigglesworth's Home for Wayward Cats

At Mr. Bigglesworth’s Home for Wayward Cats, we like to think of our impact as small but mighty. As a two-person team, we work closely with our local community to rescue feral, stray, and abandoned cats in unsafe situations, especially those who may not have a positive outcome in a traditional shelter environment. The cats we rescue are brought to our sanctuary, where they are safe, well cared for, and deeply loved. We also provide TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) services for community cats who are already being cared for but need support with population control. Over the past year, our local shelter has been without a veterinarian, which meant taking on significantly higher costs for spay/neuter and vaccination services. Despite this, we remain committed to our mission and continue doing everything we can to help. Now, with veterinary services finally returning, we’re ready to expand our efforts just in time for kitten season. Our goal is to spay/neuter and vaccinate 15 cats in one month, but we need your help to make it happen. The average cost per cat is $135, assuming no additional or emergency care is needed. To reach our goal, we need to raise $2,025. With your support, we can prevent future litters, reduce suffering, and create a healthier, safer community for these cats. Every donation makes a meaningful difference. 6/8/26 Update: 12 Cats Helped! Though we may have fallen a little short of our goal, we were able to get 12 cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated in the month of April! Thank you so much to those who donated to help us cover some of this cost. We appreciate you so much!!

Charlottesville, VA • Mr. Bigglesworth's Home for Wayward Cats

Mr. Bigglesworth was a literal "junk yard" cat when we found him and now he lives safely at the sanctuary that was created because of him - Mr. Bigglesworth's Home for Wayward Cats. This fella had a rough life and came to us with a broken tail, broken toe, and a mouth full of painful teeth. Though he now has a safe, wonderful place to call home we still struggle with his ongoing dental issues. Mr. Bigglesworth was diagnosed with Feline Stomatitis. About a year ago he had an intensive dental procedure at Charlottesville Vet Hospital where he had several teeth removed. Since then, the condition has been managed well with medication. Sadly, his pain has returned and he needs another dental where they will need to remove most, if not all, of his teeth to allow him to live without pain. The day that we caught Mr. Bigglesworth, instead of going to the back of the cage like out other new rescues, he came straight to the front and stared at us. We cautiously held up our hand and he immediately started rubbing his head on us. That day we pledged to him that he had found his people and he'd never have to suffer again. Please help us keep that promise! Seeing this sweet fella experience enough pain to actually show it is heartbreaking. Though removing his teeth is not what we want for him, it IS what will allow him to be pain free. That is what we want for all of our babies - a pain free, safe, happy life!
