About

Our Mission

My Father’s Business is dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and giving them the safety, compassion, and second chances they deserve. We work to save dogs from abandonment, neglect, overcrowded shelters, and other difficult circumstances, providing them with care, rehabilitation, and loving homes.

Our mission goes beyond rescue. We believe the right dog can transform a person’s life just as surely as a person can transform a dog’s life. Through thoughtful adoption, community outreach, and special programs—including placing senior dogs with senior adults at no adoption cost—we strive to create lasting bonds that bring companionship, purpose, and love to both people and animals.

Every dog matters. Every life has value. And every rescue is the beginning of a new story.

Double The Pain

Greeenville, SC • My Father's Business

Panda arrived at a county shelter already carrying the painful evidence of what she had been through. She desperately needed orthopedic surgery, but that wasn’t her only medical emergency. At some point in Panda’s past, her ears had been severely cropped. They were cut so badly that she was left with virtually no protection for her ear canals, putting her at risk for ongoing pain, infections, and complications. Fixing the damage required another major surgery. Thankfully, My Father’s Business Rescue stepped in to save Panda and make sure she finally received the care she deserved. Her orthopedic surgery alone cost approximately $4,000, while the surgery to repair and protect her ears added another $2,500. That’s $6,500 in surgical expenses to give this sweet girl the chance to live comfortably and move forward from her painful past. Panda has already endured more than any dog should have to. Now, her rescuers need help covering the enormous cost of giving her a healthier future. Please donate to Panda’s Waggle campaign and help My Father’s Business Rescue cover the cost of the surgeries she desperately needed. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps give Panda the fresh start she deserves.

Help Grandma Biscuit Beat Cancer

SC • My Father's Business

At 9 years old and just 10 pounds, Grandma Biscuit should be spending her golden years surrounded by comfort and love. Instead, this sweet senior arrived at Greenville Animal Care and Control as a stray with a very large, ulcerated mass on her right rear leg. Because of the severity of her condition, Grandma Biscuit was at risk of euthanasia when her stray hold ended. Thankfully, a shelter Pathway Planner saw something special in this incredibly sweet and loving girl and reached out for help. A rescue stepped in, a medical foster said yes, and Grandma Biscuit was pulled from the shelter and taken straight to the vet. And there is hopeful news: there is no visible evidence that the cancer has spread. Grandma Biscuit is now awaiting pathology results that will determine the best way forward. If possible, veterinarians will surgically remove the mass. If testing shows that it is an aggressive mast cell tumor that cannot be safely removed while preserving her leg, she may need an amputation to give her the best chance at a healthy future. Her rescuers have already spent approximately $1,000 getting her the veterinary care and diagnostics she urgently needed. Her upcoming treatment—including surgery to address the mass, a much-needed spay, and dental care for her badly neglected teeth—is expected to cost another $1,500, bringing her total medical expenses to approximately $2,500. Grandma Biscuit came frighteningly close to never getting this chance. Now she has people fighting for her, a safe place to recover, and a path toward a happier life. Please donate to help cover Grandma Biscuit’s medical care and give this tiny senior the second chance she deserves.

Hit by a car, Bandit is fighting to stay alive right now

GA • My Father's Business

When animal control found 8-year-old Bandit, the little senior Shih Tzu had suffered devastating injuries after being hit by a car. He was unable to properly stand on his hind legs, and X-rays revealed multiple severe pelvic fractures. There was also concern that his bladder could be ruptured. The shelter knew Bandit needed more than they could provide—and he needed it immediately. Because of the severity of his injuries, My Father’s Business Rescue stepped in and pulled Bandit early, getting him out of the shelter and into the hospital as quickly as possible. Today, this little dog is fighting for his life under veterinary care while his rescue does everything possible to give him a chance. But there is another heartbreaking piece to Bandit’s story: someone may be missing him. Bandit was well groomed when he was found, leading rescuers to believe he may have a family somewhere who loves him. My Father’s Business Rescue is tirelessly searching for his owners while refusing to let the uncertainty surrounding his past delay the lifesaving care he needs now. And if Bandit’s family is found but cannot afford the enormous cost of treating his injuries, the rescue is prepared to continue covering his medical care so finances don’t stand between Bandit and the chance to survive and be reunited with his family. Right now, the priority is simply keeping him safe, managing his pain, determining the full extent of his injuries, and giving his body the opportunity to heal. After everything Bandit has endured, he deserves every chance we can give him. Please donate to help My Father’s Business Rescue cover Bandit’s emergency veterinary care as he fights for his life—and please keep this little boy and the family who may be searching for him in your thoughts.
