Owner-Surrendered Ford Needs Surgery for a Painful Knee Condition

Ford is a sweet 4-year-old Pomeranian who recently found himself in the care of OC Pom Rescue after being surrendered by his previous owner. While we don't know everything he's been through, we do know that he deserves a fresh start—and right now, he needs medical care to get there. After coming into rescue, Ford was diagnosed with a medial patellar luxation, commonly known as a luxating patella. This painful orthopedic condition causes his kneecap to slip out of place, leading to discomfort and instability in his hind leg. Although Ford continues to get around surprisingly well and hasn't let his condition dampen his spirit, the issue will only become more painful over time without surgical intervention. Despite everything, Ford remains a gentle, easygoing little dog. He enjoys relaxing on the couch, playing with his favorite toys, and soaking up attention from the people around him. Everyone who meets him quickly falls in love with his sweet personality. Ford's veterinary team has recommended surgery to correct the luxating patella and help prevent further pain and mobility issues. This procedure will not only improve his comfort and quality of life, but it will also help prepare him for adoption so he can find the loving forever home he deserves. The cost of Ford's surgery and related medical care is estimated at $5,399. Sweet Cantaloupe Needs ACL Surgery Before Finding His Forever Home

Cantaloupe is a lovable 6-year-old Pomeranian who recently came into the care of OC Pom Rescue after being surrendered by his owner. While his life has taken an unexpected turn, this sweet little dog has remained gentle, affectionate, and eager to find a family to call his own. Anyone who spends time with Cantaloupe quickly falls in love with his personality. He loves attention and isn't shy about asking for it. When he's hoping for more pets, he'll gently nudge your hand with his head or settle close beside you. He especially enjoys belly rubs and often lets out adorable little grunts when someone scratches his favorite spots. During a veterinary evaluation, Cantaloupe was diagnosed with a torn ACL, a painful orthopedic injury that affects the stability of his knee and makes walking increasingly difficult. Without surgical repair, the injury can continue to impact his mobility, comfort, and overall quality of life. His veterinary team has recommended a Lateral Fabellar Suture procedure to stabilize the joint and help him regain normal function. This surgery will relieve his discomfort and give him the best chance at returning to the happy, active life every dog deserves.
