Meet Dakota. This little 2.5-month-old Boston Terrier may be small, but he is mighty. ❤️ Dakota came to us from a family who had originally adopted him out but was shortly returned due to some urinary concerns. The family then reached out to us for help with him as they trusted us to find a new great home. When Dakota arrived, we knew he needed medical attention. What we didn't know was just how complicated his situation might be. Our friends at CareVet of West Central MN have been working with us to get answers, and Dakota has already been to the vet multiple times. We are learning that his potty issues may be related to something much more complex than a simple bladder problem. His next step is a visit with a neurologist for further testing. From there, we simply don't know what the road ahead will look like. And we want to be honest with you: Dakota is a bigger medical case than PCHS typically has the resources to take on. We are already reaching out to potential resources and rescue partners who may be in a better position to help him long-term. But in the meantime, we want to give this little guy the best chance we possibly can. Dakota is only 2.5 months old. He has his whole life ahead of him, and despite everything he's been through already, he is still a happy, sweet little puppy who deserves the opportunity to grow up and experience that life. His quality of life will always be our priority, and we will continue to make decisions based on what is best for Dakota. But right now, we want to give him every reasonable chance to find answers and get the care he needs. This is where we need your help.
