This boy was at a shelter in the central valley, CA and we received a call asking our rescue for help. Porter was not weight bearing on this leg and x-rays revealed that his elbow is broken and there isn't enough bone to put it back together with any sort of biomedical device. We will need to take him to surgery soon to either amputate or freeze the joint which will result in him walking peg-legged. Options for optimal outcome are still be weighed and a choice will be made soon. The funds requested won't be enough to satisfy either one of the surgery decisions we make, so on-going efforts will be made to raise more money.
