Nala is a presa canario, we got her as a puppy from her mom. She is a character loves to talk to you when she wants something whether its attention or food. Her best friend is my 12 year old pitbull Sadie they do everything together. This is an emergency, took her to our vet at All Pets Hospital and they did xray and said she needs a TPLO (ACL) surgery. She is in a lot of pain. I have a consultation with specialist on 10/31/25 at Blue Pearl in Des Moines, IA, and if all goes well they do same day surgery. I don't have a estimate sheet, but they did inform me that consultation will be around $300 and surgery could be $6k. Nala is the biggest teddy bear and lover. She loves children, loves her rope and tug a war, she knows the difference between a child playing with her and an adult. She is very strong. She is the biggest talker. If I don't pay attention to her she will yell at me, she lets me know when her bowl is empty and when she wants outside. I am on a fixed income. I only get Disability every month. I want Nala happy and talking back at me again, not sad and in pain. To have her be able to walk normal and be happy would mean the world to me. She is my baby!

Saturday, July 29th, my husband came rushing in the house calling for me to come help a cat who had been attacked by a raccoon! I hurried out and found a STARVING tabby cat with several large wounds on his hind hip and leg. I went inside and got a towel, hydrogen peroxide, and antibiotic ointment and went back outside to get the cat. This guy has only been in our home for a few days, but I can already see that he's special. He doesn't make a sound when I clean his wounds, even though I know that it MUST hurt badly! He even crawled over to me this afternoon to snuggle after I cleaned his wounds and put ointment on them! He is gentle and sweet, and doesn't complain. This boy has obviously gone through a LOT in his life! His sweetness in the face of all his pain and suffering gives me hope! What a brave and loving cat despite all of his troubles! I hope that I can be as brave and sweet as he is when I am in pain... This poor cat is (literally) starving, had a tick in his ear, and was hurt badly by something. One of his wounds will need stitches, and he may be missing some teeth. I will take him to my vet to get him treated. I REALLY need your help since his vet bill will be high, and I don't have a job yet. I just can't let this boy struggle with the pain of his injuries just because I don't have the money to help him. Please help me to help him!
