Ven

Ven is a 4 year old American Shorthair in Pickerington, OH, who needs $4,000 for Urinary Catheterization to Clear Blockage.

Pickerington, OH

On Christmas Day 2021, I found a young, thin kitty outside my mom’s house in the freezing rain. My mom couldn’t keep her so I brought her home with my family and, surprise, she gave birth to 6 healthy kittens on 2/22/22, one of which was Ven. 2 of his siblings were adopted but he still resides with me and his kitty family. He is a big, sweet, chunky boy who purrs as soon as you look at him. Last night I noticed he was walking weird when he exited a cat box so I looked around the area but only found drops of yellow urine. He was eventually walking more normally. This morning, I decided to check on him and, when I softly palpated his lower belly, he cried in pain and leaked a few droplets of blood tinged urine. AllPets at Pickerington confirmed a blockage that requires hospitalization. He is just the sweetest boy and loves everyone who will give him any bit of attention. He loves chasing his siblings and mom through the house and, despite his size, he is very talented at jumping up and bouncing off the walls to chase our laser pointer. I lost my job last year and it has been incredibly hard to find a new one, and unemployment benefits ran out in Feb. My parents passed away in 2024 (my mom on this very day today) and my car was repossessed on 5/1. I don’t have much left to lose and my cats are my family.

Bear

Bear is a 2-year-old Lhasa Apso in Pickerington, OH, who needs $1,080 for Cytology .

Pickerington, OH

Bear came into mine and my daughters life in January of this year. We found him on Craigslist after a year of looking for the perfect fit for our family. It’s just me and my 9 year old daughter so Bear made our family complete. When the pandemic started we realized how Incredibly lucky we were to have him. He helped with my depression by giving me so much love everyday. He was meant to be with us Bear likes to sit in our windowsill because he is always in protection mode. He’s very human like in his actions. When he’s sick he lays in the bathtub because he knows that is where I go when I’m sick. If he’s upset or jealous he lets me know by giving me sad eyes 👀. He loves to play fetch and gets really silly when he’s playing. I lost my job due to COVID and can’t find new work because I’m a single mom and my 9 year old daughter has school from home and obviously can’t leave her alone. I’m usually prepared for anything but losing my job and depending on our government for help makes me feel helples My daughter and I were driving cross country with our dog Bear. When we were in Nevada at lake Mead Bear was on a house boat while we swam at a cove a short distance away. During this time he hurt his nose and top of his ears somehow. I have no idea what happened but knew he was hurt. We took him to the vet nearby and did what we could until we got home. Now that we are home we took him to a vet. Bear loves to chase! He chases cats all the time but would never hurt them. He’s a big flirt and gets all the dogs to play with him. He’s a handsome gentleman. I’ve never felt the love of a dog like this before. I’m his person and it’s an amazing feeling. Asking for help isn’t something I’m good at and I feel bad because I know how many people are in the same situation.
