Maestro came into my life by the absolute grace of God. Enduring a harrowing trip under a car at just the age of 7 weeks it was an absolute miracle that he made the trip unscathed. The moment he was placed in my arms I knew he was a gift from heaven. From that moment he was my “ride or die”. I made a promise to him that day that I would be his forever momma, and I meant absolutely every word. Recently Maestro was diagnosed with FLUTD. He desperately needs a cystotomy. His emergency care literally drained every cent I had reserved for his care. Despite me pulling out all the stops, he is most certainly on borrowed time. He is absolutely on a wing and a prayer and now I am forced to come to the realization that the end of or ride together is closer than I am ready to admit. When I brought Maestro home as a rescue my senior parents were reluctant at best to have a new baby in the house. They greeted him with open arms and his presence was absolute magic. He breathed new life into the entire house with his typical orange cat antics and silliness. I can still hear my mother saying “he gave us new life!” Maestro is my best friend in the entire world. He IS my world. When my mother died from Leukemia last year, he was the one who brought me and continues to bring me peace on those darkest of days. Now he needs ME…and I can’t help him. My heart is shattered.
