Kodi

Kodi is a 7 year old Siberian Husky in Summerville, SC, who needs $2,000 for Enucleation.

Summerville, SC

Kodi joined our pack 2 years ago at the spritly age of 5 years old. He was being rehomed via a Facebook post: his previous owner couldn’t care for him after being diagnosed with a health issue. We took one look at him and knew we were his people. As soon as we saw his photo, we were in the car for a 3 hour drive north to bring him home. Kodi was diagnosed with an upset in his right eye earlier this year. We have been trying to treat it with medicine, but it’s become clear that treatment has been unsuccessful. He will have to have his eye removed. He has been seen at Animal Eye Care, who specializes in dogs vision health and issues. We call him our “broken husky”: after spending time being raised as a service dog, some of his huskiness was trained out of him, and he has become the perfect gentleman for our family. Loving, gentle, caring, energetic. He spends the days outside while our kids are at school, but refuses to leave their side when they are home. We are a military family and will be moving soon to our next duty station overseas which is prohibitively expensive. Knowing that we will have to fly with Kodi’s eye the way it is heartbreaking. Having his eye taken care of would mean he would be safe and comfortable.

Sister

Sister is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Cross, SC, who needs $1,400 for Eye Removal.

Cross, SC

Sister (legal name is Twisted Sister lol) came into my life as a kitten in 2016 and has been my best friend ever since. She always knows how to make me feel better when I need her and she sings when she purrs. She's all black except for when she lays in the sun too long and starts to rust. She has the sweetest soul and is loved by her human parents and her other cat siblings. Sister was given feline herpes at birth and has not shown symptoms up until now. She had a small abrasion on her eye caused by the virus and it quickly became infected. The tissue of her iris started to grow towards the infection and the wound. She needs to have her eye removed ASAP, and is currently being treated for a respiratory infection so she can undergo surgery. Sister's favorite place to lay is either my bed or the window. She has a raspy meow that wishes us a good morning every day and when you pet her she purrs so intensely it sounds like she's singing. She's an introverted little princess and watches her siblings play together from a perch with love in her eyes, she'd rather watch than participate. The animal optometrist that's seeing Sister quoted me roughly $1400 for the surgery to remove her affected eye. Me and my partner bought our first home a year ago and made an out of state move, and we don't have any savings as of right now.

Gunnar

Gunnar is a 1-year-old German shepherd in Summerville, SC, who needs $700 for enucleation.

Summerville, SC

Hello we got our 11 week old Germain Shepard when he was 8 weeks old. He was and is perfect for our busy family. We decided on a name and GUNNAR stuck even though my little ones call him boy dog.:) we also have a 8 month Chihuahua names Tootsie who needed a friend. She was lonely and full of energy so we decided on our Gunnar. We also have 2 cats and 2 reptiles too. Gunnar is a fat fat as I would like to call him. He came and immediately let Tootsie know he was boss. He would take tootsie bed while she's sleeping and drag tootsie with his teeth. He's just to funny. He loves to eat and play and SLEEP. We find Gunnar always sleeping in quite weird spots. He really is a joy to our family and pets. For us to remove Gunnar eye, we just can't afford that until March 17 when next pay day. I'm looking for any help before then to get him out of pain. He's now on gabapintin for pain. I feel hopless and defeated. 2 days after we got gunnar he decided to play with my cat Phyllis. Well Phyllis being concerned of her new brother in the house decided to scratch at Gunnar and got Gunnar eye. I took Gunnar and they decided he was blind completely and had a caterac in that eye. I was able to afford all the care for him and had another appt on March 16. We woke up to his eye completely bulging and needing a removal. Gunnar has created such a special bond with my stepdaughter. I think he's her favorite. Wheb she leaves he just lays by her door and wines to go in. On another note she loves all the kiddos but I think they are to hyper for him right now because he's just a little puppy. Something that makes me laugh about Gunnar is that's he's so big and grunts EVERY TIME he moves or anytime you pick him up.
