Blade

Blade came into our lives at 5 weeks old. Right from the beginning he had his own unique personality. He was stubborn from the start! His name, Blade, came from how sharp his teeth were as a pup. He chewed on everything! If it was in his sight, it was destroyed by his razor blade teeth. We tried everything to stop him from chewing furniture, but his stubborn attitude wouldn't allow it. Blade has been with us through all of our families milestones. Engagement, marriage, birth of our son. He's such a faithful dog. He stayed by my side through pregnancy, and would even lay his paw on my stomach to feel baby moving. He is our sons protector and best friend. Blade is lost without his buddy during school hours and goes on his own "strike". He refuses to eat or go outside until. Blade is definitely a talker, and he voices his "opinion" over everything! Two members of our household have epilepsy and Blade has "trained" himself to sense these seizures. If I'm not near, he makes sure I hear him and continues "yelling" at me until I go with him, all while making sure he stays near the person. He never leaves our sons side when sick and tries making him feel better. While outside one day in our fenced in backyard, I heard a loud yelp. This is very unusual coming from Blade. Seeing him walking on only 3 legs and hopping back in the house, we didn't know what was wrong. Frantic, we called every pet hospital and vet to get him an appointment. Unsuccessful until the next day. It was found he tore his ACL and it required surgery as it was beyond repair on its own. We are on a very strict, tight income. With other (human) medical expenses, this unexpected expense took us by surprise. The monthly payment is just out of budget and would put a bigger financial strain on us that I'm not sure we would survive.
Darwin
Darwin is a 3-year-old Lab Mix in APPLEGATE, MI, who needs $2,000 for Cruciate Repair.

Darwin was gifted/rescued when he was just 5 weeks old. He was a very sickly little pup who was in need of some TLC. He thrived in the family and was very healthy until this year when he injured both of his cruciates. Darwin is out constant companion who is never far away. Whole he favors his dad and insists on being either dad or mom's personal weighted blanket nightly he is also a constant playmate and protector to his 2 boys. He is a very loved member of the family. Darwin was blessed with the goofiest puppy dog face and calm demeanor. He knows just how to communicate with a head tilt or grubble to let you know just what is on his mind. We are looking for assistance in getting Darwin's cruciate surgery. A vet has yet to be determined to do the surgery. However Burtchville Vet Clinic has diagnosed both of his injured cruciates and determined they are in need of surgical repair. Darwin has always had a sad puppy face that gets him what he wants lol however, lately you can tell that he is in pain and he is no longer the playful puppy he once was. He no longer enjoys playing with his kids or his other fur siblings.

Ellie is a 8-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix in Flint, MI, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral Cruciate Ligament Injury (Knee Ligament Ruptured).

I was asked to be a Foster. Decided to keep her after two days fostering. That was 7 years ago. She is my pal. She loves to go for rides in my truck and loves to go for q walk. She has another pal too that loves to play but Ellie cannot because she is injured. I have to pick her up to even help her get up on the couch to lay down in my lap. She used to sleep on my bed at night but cannot climb the stairs as there are 13 so she is sleeping on the floor in the living room. She loves for me to take her for walks and take rides in my truck. Ellie amd my other dog Ruby love to run and play in the back yard barking and chasing each other. She has her doggy friends next door and in the back she loves to communicate with. Can't eat much. Forever Friends Lady I got her through lives on the corner. Ellie gets so rambunctus she climbs on their laps wanting attention she is so happy to see them. Sunday she climed on my son in law's lap fighting her hurt knee as she climbed on his lap licking at his face and wanting so much attention I couldnot help myself watching. She hasn't shown that impatience welcoming someone in the house. She has a ruptured CCL in her right knee. It is hampering her walking and climbing on furnature. I have an appointment for the operaton on Nov 16th for her knee to be repaired. I don't have the money it is going to take to repair the injury. Dr Medows at Lakeport Vet hospital In Port huron Mi is doing the work as I was told he does about 15 of these a month. she will be ther for 48 hours. Fixed income, too many monthly bills to pay and this unexpected expense really tears at my heart as she is in constant pain and I have no money as backup and no one to ask for help. This is why I am asking for help for this operation.
