Zeus
Zeus is a 7 month old Yorkshire Terrier in ny, NY, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery.
ny, NY
Zeus came into my life as a gift, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. He’s been my little shadow, full of energy and love. I chose the name Zeus because he’s small but mighty. He lives with me in a loving home, and he’s more than a pet—he’s family. We don’t have other pets, just each other. Zeus is my sweet, energetic pup who broke his leg and has been struggling ever since. It’s been nearly 3 weeks, and the cast isn’t helping. Now he may need surgery—or worse, amputation. The skin under the cast seem to have gotten worse. I’m heartbroken and just want to give him a chance to run, play, and live pain-free again. His hospital is Animal Surgical Center Zeus is full of personality—he’s playful, loyal, and always makes me laugh. He loves cuddles, chasing his favorite squeaky toy, and “talks” back when you speak to him. He follows me everywhere and truly believes he’s a little protector. He brings joy to everyone he meets and makes our home feel complete. I recently lost my job and am currently living on a very limited income. This emergency vet expense was unexpected, and I don’t have an emergency fund. Getting help to make my pet healthy again would lift a huge burden and mean the world to our family.

Smoke
Smoke is a 4 month old German Shepherd Dog in Bayside, NY, who needs $2,000 for Broken Femur and Hospitalization.
Bayside, NY
Smoke is a loved sweet puppy and the newest addition to our family. He is my 4 year old son’s everything. He is sweet and loving. He is smart and he makes all of our days better. In a very unfortunate accident our sweet boy fell out of a running car and broke his leg. He is showing signs of air in lungs and needs treatment immediately. He is so excited when my baby wakes up. They have become friends since the day they met. He at such young age learned to just come check on us if we aren’t together for some period of time. His big paw hugs are nothing like we’ve ever felt before. The surgery and treatment are costing us 10,000 and we don’t have that kind of money. Care credit denied our request to increase credit line. My family is under a lot of distress.

Frankie
Frankie is a 2-year-old Pitbull mix in Brooklyn, NY, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) Surgery.
Brooklyn, NY
Sweet Frankie has been a part of my heart and my home since we adopted her 2 years ago thanks to the rescue agency Louie's Legacy. My partner and I were starting master's degrees in social work and teaching and I made the decision that to make my life complete, Frankie needed to be a part of it. We named her Frankie for Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, our home sweet home. There is nothing as gratifying as making this sweet girl happy! Frankie is the ultimate snuggle bug who makes herself comfy on any plushy chair, bed, or couch she can find. She loves nothing more than to be curled up in her purple and white checkered blanket. When we can coax her out on adventures, she loves walks to the park where she can find a stick to chase or grass to roll in. Frankie always is ready to make a new best friend! She is ready at any time to give some kisses and hop in a lap for some hugs. And once you are in her heart, she'll sing when she sees you come in the door. She is an amazingly caring pet and is always ready to lick away tears or be a hot pack when you're feeling under the weather. She makes me laugh daily with her expressive face and joy for life Frankie tore her ACL in a fit of zoomies that her poor little knee just could not withstand. Because of her size and breed, she requires a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO). She'll be a super dog with a metal knee! We are going to the Animal Surgical Center in Oceanside, NY. The team there explained the procedure and is ready to provide excellent care to get Frankie back up and running! Frankie is such a young and active pup, so we did not anticipate a medical expense of this size so early in her life. She's a pup with a heart of gold with two parents who work in social services and just finished graduate school, so don't have the safety net we'd hoped.

Capone
Capone is a 5-year-old American Bully in Ozone Park, NY, who needs $2,000 for Pericardial Window.
Ozone Park, NY
Capone came into my life at a very low point in time. I had just been in a bus accident and needed knee surgery, shortly after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All things combined left me 80% immobile and and in 100% pain 24/7. The meds I was given made me sick and my relationship was failing... I was in so much pain, I no longer wanted to live but Capone gave me a reason to get up every day! Capone is the prince of the house! He sleeps with me and takes up 90% of my king sized bed even though he has his own room, and his own lounge space in every other room. He spends his days lounging but takes time to go out in the yard several times a day for fresh air. He is especially good with my grandbabies and gets along with external family pets as well. Everyone simply adores him! Capone is so special... He speaks to us! When we ask if he's hungry, thirsty, wants outside, or wants belly rubs he will purr when you get to the right answer. He also whines to get attention and will walk to and from you and "whatever he wants" until you follow him, and of course give him what he asked for! He gives "gentle kisses" and takes treats right from my mouth without touching my lips. Capone has idiopathic pericardial effusion which is the buildup of extra fluid in the space around the heart. When too much fluid builds up, it puts pressure on the heart which prevents it from pumping normally and leads to heart failure. The excess fluid leaks into the abdomen causing ascitis (fluid bloat) thus making surgery urgent as the pericardial sac is already filled at max capacity. My insurance won't cover this surgery. The cost is between $9-13k as he needs a Board Certified Surgeon. I have applied for grants but time is ticking and if I can't pay for surgery in full, I have to surrender him so he can have surgery but won't return to me or his home.

Seven
Seven is a 7-year-old Mixed Breed in Brooklyn, NY, who needs $2,000 for Cystectomy.
Brooklyn, NY
Seven has been with me since 2019! After experiencing a traumatic year, I decided to adopt a pet. I visited some shelters but didn't connect with any of the dogs I met. A friend of mine told me he knew someone that was looking for a home for her dog because she wasn't capable of taking care of her anymore. We arranged to meet and I instantly fell in love with Seven! The rest is history! Since Seven has been with me, she's become a part of the family. My family members are obsessed with her and shows her so much love. She even gets more christmas gifts then I do from everyone:) Around my neighborhood, Seven is like the Mayor of the area! Everyone knows her and always wants to play and give her belly rubs. I have to say, my brother often says Seven is my late grandmother reincarnated! I'm not so sure I'm sold on that theory but she does have similar behaviors like my grandmother. She's always smiling and joyful! Seven loves to cuddle but only when she wants them and she loves watching tv, especially wrestling which my grandmother has enjoyed. Seven is currently urinating blood and her vet has informed me that it's a pullet/ mass that is lining near her bladder that needs to be removed. They are concerned that it could be cancerous which is causing more fear. I'm hoping to have it removed asap to determine if it is or isn't cancer so we can treat her quickly. Seven has been the greatest gift that I've ever received. She came to me at a really difficult time in my life and within the first few months, we wen into a worldwide pandemic. I've been having a hard time financially with how the economy has been and the surgery is a lot.
