Cece

Cece is a 6-year-old Cavi in Chicago , IL, who needs $2,000 for Pyrometra.

Chicago, IL

Cece came into our lives as a puppy as a gift for my son. She was the smallest pup in her litter with a odd spot on her nose…we deemed it as “exotic” and decided to bring her into our family. Cece is a nurturing dog. She loves to be with family at all times. She also is a pretend guard dog. Who often barks at the big dogs. She was humbled by a Great Dane this summer. She loves french fries and pup cups. She often waits for the Starbucks cashier to hand her that cup and she immediately devours it. She loves those car rides. Cece is not spayed and has developed some sort of infection in her uterus. She’s bleeding from her vagina and it also has puss present. She is not eating much and I am very scared for her. She is being treated at the animal welfare league. Reduction in hours due to a car accident with car repairs needed have created a tremendous financial burden. I need my car for work as I am a single parent who drives 1-hour one way to work daily.

Pepper

Pepper is a 4-year-old Terrier Mix in Chicago, IL, who needs $1,275 for Bladder Surgery.

Chicago, IL

Pepper D was 6 months when my naphew got her, he mostly left her on me because he had to work. She was with someone who didn't want her. He got her fixed at 9 months. SIx weeks after surgery she started having seizures my napew couldn't deal with it and the cost. He was going to put her down, I said no that I would take her. Though I have a large Bull massive and 2 cats. 3 years no seizure since Pepper is a active, hyper and nervous girl. She loves her walks, plays fetch and gets along with the other pets. Except she does go after 1 of the cats when he disturbs her sleep. Though she doesn't have seizures she still wakes up dazed and don't know where she's at. Most people don't be bothered with her though she wants the attention. But she's my heart and she is let known it. I have added a female cat to the bunch named Sheba. Her and Pepper get into a lot of trouble together. She mostly be with Cody my big dog and they loose their minds over balls. She knows where I keep them she always push the cabinet to knock them down and she loves her balls. She will bark to let me know feeding and treat time and don't let be late A year ago she developed Bladder stones and needs surgery. I've tried every avenue. Even tried to get loan but the answer is no and my hands are tied. We found a reasonable place for surgery but no payment plan. It's hard to watch her strain, and be in pain, she walks so slow now If excited she starts bleeding I only get disability, To let this beautiful soul suffer has been hard. We both miss play time. She's still try to get spunky but it puts her down in pain and bleeding. If this was a child help would be easier, but because they're pets we're stuck.

Photo of Pebbles

Pebbles

Pebbles is a 3-year-old American Bully in Chicago, IL, who needs $693 for Pyometra Treatment.

Chicago, IL

Pebbles was a gift from a co worker. I name her Pebbles cause she looks like a pebble I have another dog name Nike and he instantly feel in love with her as well he potty trained and made sure she would never feel alone. When she came into his life it was like two kids running around my house and Pebbles would just have her way with him. Pebbles loves to lick and cuddles with me and my 24yr old daughter she sits and give you paw for her treats she loves to go on walks to the store and enjoys car rides. She knows when we are pulling up in front of the from a block away and looks out the window and be anxiously waiting for us to get out the car so she can jump on you as soon as you get in the door. Her smile for me makes me happy. She loves to pose for the camera and hates when we put on costumes cause she will give you this look like really when you turn your back I'm taking it off. She is a comfort to me everywhere I go in the house she just wobbles on the side me she even sits in the bathroom with me sits in the kitchen when I'm cooking. My dog start having heavy vaginal bleeding and swelling of her tummy. Shes not eating just laying around for 3days so I took her to the veterinarian, and they said she needs surgery because her uterus infected and if it goes untreated she won't make it to see next week. She up to date with her vaccination. This was unexpected for me and all my utilities are due just as well as my mortgage is due as I just don't what to do at this point I can't lose her and I can't loose my home either.

Photo of Buddy

Buddy

Buddy is a 11-year-old Chihuahua in Chicago , IL, who needs $828 for Enucleation.

Chicago, IL

My angel Buddy came into my life 11 sweet years ago when I delivered him and his 2 sisters Maya and Bambi through their mother Mia, who we also owned but was given to my niece, as she loves caring for senior dogs. Needless to say we have maintained a tight-knit family for Buddy who sees his mother And other siblings regularly and lives with his younger brother Oso, who was delivered 4 years later. Buddy knows all about Family and 2 has taught me a many lessons in the importance of family myself. I was 12 years old when I delivered buddy and in the 1st minutes into his birth he taught me love and the fight I had with them to remain determined in saving his. Buddy was Delivered without breathing and I very luckily and very recently had been educated on risks and procedures for assisting delivery in very small dogs. Suffice it to say I proceeded to stick an index finger in buddy's throat to remove any foreign or bodily fluid to open up his airway and like magic, He took his very 1st breath in my arms Buddy has not slept a single night outside of my arms or I should say beside my face. I often wake up to his snuggles along my there is no doubt in my mind our mutual love for each other surpasses many. While we recently experienced a traumatic house fire, but he spent a lot of his time chasing bunnies and squirrels in our spacious backyaread, something I miss very much today. He loved sunbathing on our porch and while buddy isn't particularly vocal he has a very unique way of communicating with me that I can only describe as a low nasal hum. He especially does this when I am hugging his face or when he wants to cuddle. Like many small dogs buddy enjoys playing with squeaky toys and a form up tag and will not hesitate to outrun you to show off his running skills. However everybody is terrified Of rain and thunder. I nurse this fear through doggy muffs and heavy sweaters and/or blankets to give him the sensation and security of feeling safe and cared for. He will often bury himself under my blankets and I like to join him to allow him to feel a part of rather than apart from during these times This is the part where I must maintain strength for buddy and take action where he cannot. Buddy was showing small but incremental signs of glaucoma however he recently had a rough tumble down a flight of cement stairs and impacted his right eye on one of the edges of the steps Inadvertently causing what can only be considered as severe glaucoma and tremendous swelling. He will need emergency enucleation. I am creating this campaign in equal parts desperation and hope that any help I receive will get him closer to returning to his usual happy quality of life And continue to shine his beautiful and call me light on all of our lives. The year 2023 has been a vicious start for my family and I from the loss of my grandfather to our home burning and moving into a hotel since December 13th period we all seem to be hanging on by a thread and this happening to the one animal I've spent the best half of my life with Is yet another hardship under my belt. I ask for strength and determination that buddy and I are given hope and healing light. I plead with you to donate anything, anything you can at all. I know too well how hard finances are for people in today's world and I'm truly relying on the open hearts of many to help Buddy and I your donation will bring more happiness and joy than I can ever possibly detail here. I would do anything for him.

Photo of Speedy

Speedy

Speedy is a 10-year-old Tuxedo Short Hair in Chicago, IL, who needs $700 for a teeth cleaning, anesthesia, x-rays, extractions and tarter and plaque removal.

chicago, IL

I rescued "Speedy" from a high kill shelter back in 2010. He was born with 3 full legs and a "nubby." (pictured). He has been such a little lover and pure delight over the years. Unfortunately, in 2016 his nubby limb needed to be amputated done to pain. The last 2 years his oral health has declined rapidly. I was furloughed due to Covid, in Oct. Short on funds and he needs a deep clean. Speedy has been with me for 10 years and we rescued another-- ("Pickles".. a senior, female cat) back in 2015 and we just lost her due to kidney failure, 2 weeks ago. Speedy appeared very depressed initially after we lost our girl however, seems to be finding joy again. I am coming around. I'm single and was laid off last year due to Covid. I'm just trying to maintain his immediate health. Once I'm called back to work ( not sure when) I'll be able to hopefully get blood work done and address any other medical needs. His mouth looks painful now, however. His background health wise was his amputation. I believe he is healthy for the most part but in 2019 when I noticed his teeth looking brown and with build up plaque, I knew I wanted to get him in for a deep oral cleaning in 2020. Then, I was furloughed and just trying to find a way to pay my rent and utility bills. 'Speedy" has no idea he is "special needs". He still runs (jumps) around and is the sweetest, funniest boy. His purr that sounds like a motor. He is a happy, loving boy. He has some weight to lose which is troublesome because he doesn't overeat at all. I believe it may have something to do with him only having 3 legs.. perhaps less mobile.

Chicago, IL

Leo was given to us by a family freind 7 months ago. He was at first shy but quickly developed his energetic bold personality. He's my family's most lovable irritant; zipping, zooming, knocking stuff over but somehow afterward find a way to melt our heart with affection. We love him and really hope we can find support for his surgery.
