My 83 year-old dad saw Lucky on a local shelter rescue. She was all dressed up like a leprechaun, looking for a new couch to lay on. My dad lost our mom two years ago so we have been looking for a buddy for him to watch General Hospital with. On March 4 2026 we took him to meet Lucky and it was love at first sight. Upon getting lucky home and settled that first night, we noticed droplets of blood on the carpet. After further inspection, we noticed a mass underneath her tail on her rectal area. So we made an appointment immediately to take her to the vet Ansonia Westfield. After first inspection, she was diagnosed with a double ear infection, broken canine tooth, mass on her backside and a skin inflammation. My dad is Lucky‘s fourth home as she was just owner surrendered because she was going on their couch. During this time of being surrendered, she was also spayed. As we are finding all of this out, it is more than likely the reason why she was surrendered. She is the sweetest, so we have ever met and she does not deserve all of this. My dad is so upset because he loves her so much. She is an angel. With all of these health ailments that needing are to be fixed he is already over $4000 in vet bills before another ultrasound and surgery. My dad being 83 is on a fixed income and cannot afford all of this. He is nursing her back to health. He needs help financially.
