I first saw Peanut’s sweet face in June 2022. He had been at the Laramie Peak Humane Society for several months after being found wandering. Peanut was described as being good with cats and other dogs. My Dad’s dog Turbo went with me for the meet and greet. I knew instantly I wanted to bring him home! He fits in perfectly with me, the other dog and the three cats. I feel so lucky to have Peanut! He leans his full body into my legs when he sits next to me, if I’m standing,he leans his head into my thigh. He closes his eyes when I pet him. He is so precious! My favorite time is when we go to bed and he snuggles. He is affectionate to the customers who come to the community pottery studio I have at my house. He is also patient with my nieces. Peanut is smart! He excelled at his dog training classes, he enjoys herding the cats, he loves scent work, and he brings me immense joy and comfort. He is also a snuggler. Peanut goes to Ark Animal Hospital in Casper, WY. Dr Thorne is his Veterinarian. Peanut has torn the ACL in his right hind leg. Dr Thorne says: Peanut has torn the cranial cruciate ligament on the right stifle and has been favoring the limb for approximately 3-4 weeks. He also said that Peanut is showing signs of muscle atrophy. He needs surgery ASAP. I moved my pottery studio and home to a new location in January of 2023. Between renovation costs, pausing classes during renovations and a reduction in membership numbers I cannot afford to fix Peanut’s knee. Peanut is young! We have many good years left together!
