Lucy was rescued as a one year old from our local humane society. From day one, she was as energetic and cuddly as could be. More than anything, she loves sleeping in her human’s bed and cuddling with them the second they wake up. During warmer weather she comes with us on walks, hikes, and roadtrips. Lucy truly is our passenger princess. When she’s not cuddling, she’s begging for blueberries. Lucy met some new friends at a park and had a lot of fun playing with them. Unfortunately, after all those zoomies, she started limping. We took her to Banfield Animal Hospital where they confirmed through an X-Ray that Lucy has a partial CCL tear in her back right knee. Our poor girl is at risk for tearing the ligament further and she has to rest until we get her into surgery on 2/18. Lucy is a sweetheart who’ll be the first to greet you and give you kisses. She’s protective of her family, but she is always looking for new friends. As smart as she is, she’s also goofy - Lucy loves playing fetch, chasing reflections, and playing with her Jolly Ball. Often she will come into your lap and lean into your chest, looking for a hug. She’s a velcro dog - she goes where we go. We have been financially struggling for a while, working on a fixed income. Despite our efforts, the diagnostic testing alone has drained our savings and we’re in desperate need to get Lucy the care she deserves. It would mean the world to us to get her back on her feet.
