Help Alună get Pyometra Surgery — NV

NV

Meet Alună (Eye-yoo-nuh). She just turned 1. She is sweet, full of energy, loves to play and cuddle under blankets/sheets, but is a huge scaredy cat around anybody that's not mommy, daddy, or her brother cat. A customer at my former job gave her to me as a kitten once she stopped weaning. She follows me everywhere and is super talkative. It hurts me to see her in pain right now and not herself. Diagnosis: Open Pyometra, a serious, life-threatening bacterial infection. Her open cervix is allowing the pus and blood to discharge. She could easily rupture and get sepsis if not treated immediately. She needs to be stabilized with IV fluids and antibiotics first due to her fever and dehydration so they can do the emergency ovariohysterectomy surgery (removal of infected uterus and ovaries). She was my first ever girl kitten. I got a young boy rescue a couple months prior. He was very to himself, played only a little, didn't really like cuddles, and limited petting. It took them a minute to warm up to each other, but she broke him out of his shell. Now they both follow me around, play together, and love petting and cuddles. They're protective best friends of each other and our home. I was out of work due to a work accident. It's hard to find jobs that aren't hard physical labor anymore or positions remotely worth the pay, despite 10 years of management experience. I'm working again, barely surviving. My Alună needs to get surgery, but I've got nothing.
