Titan

Titan is a 8-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Chesterfield, VA, who needs $507 for Dental Surgery and Neuter.

Chesterfield, VA • Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue,Inc.

Titan is an 8-year-old male Chihuahua mix who weighs 15 pounds. He is a very sweet boy who recently arrived at Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue in Chesterfield, Virginia, due to no fault of his own. We were told by the previous owner that he was in good health and that his teeth were fine, but they actually need extensive treatment. Titan loves to meet new people and pups of all sizes! When someone new arrives, he wags his little tail 90 miles per hour and rushes over to meet them. Titan loves to play with anyone who would like to play with him. If no one is available, his dog toys do quite nicely. After a long day of having fun, he enjoys cuddling with his family members on the couch for a nap. Titan is super-cute. His right ear bends down, and his left stands up straight. When one of his people speaks to him, he sits attentively and watches them inquisitively, hanging on their every word. When it's time for bed, Titan burroughs deep under his blankets and curls up in a little ball. He is going to make a terrific pet for his new family. He just needs some medical care first. Titan has severely swollen gums and several loose and diseased teeth. He also needs to be neutered. On one side of his mouth, he has what looks like an extra-long canine tooth that is about to fall out. This tooth is actually normal length. It just looks much longer than it should because his gums are so receded. Over the past several months, our small rescue has been hit hard with unexpected medical expenses. These include a dog that arrived pregnant with 8 surprise pups, a dog with a broken leg, and now several dogs needing extensive dental care. Our funds are depleted.

Dutchess

Dutchess is a 11-year-old Weimaraner in Chesterfield, VA, who needs $681 for Urgent Dental Treatment & Extraction.

Chesterfield, VA • Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue,Inc.

Dutchess is an 11-year-old purebred Weimaraner that was surrendered to Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue by a man who had her for about 1.5 years after his father passed away. She was neglectfully kept in a garage with little human interaction and was undernourished on intake at the rescue, weighing in at only 50 lbs. Currently, Dutchess is in foster care with a family in the Chesterfield, Virginia, area. Her foster parents are spoiling Dutchess constantly. They provide her with lots of love, toys, exercise, and much-needed medical care. She is a gentle girl who, now that she's in the right environment, is acting and feeling better every day. Dutchess loves to take long, quiet leashed walks around the neighborhood or on wooded trails. She enjoys spending time outdoors and meeting new friends along the way. She pays no attention to the cats in her foster home and gets along great with dogs. At the end of a long day, she curls up on the couch with her favorite humans, where she eagerly anticipates back scratches and cuddles. She is underweight, with skin issues, a UTI, ear infections in both ears, and dental problems that will require care as soon as possible. A full blood panel performed by her veterinarian came back with no additional concerns. Her foster family is carefully monitoring her diet so that she can put on weight. They are also faithfully administering medication to treat her UTI and skin condition. In 2022, Beacon of Hope encountered numerous unexpected expenses: a litter of 8 puppies; surgeries for a broken leg and bladder stone removal; dental extractions; and numerous treatments for heartworms, intestinal worms, UTI's, and ear infections. We need funding.

Charlotte

Charlotte is a 16-year-old Pit in Midlothian, VA, who needs $2,000 for Treating Soft Cell Sarcoma with 2 Types of Chemo.

Midlothian, VA

We rescued Charlotte from the spca when she was 3 she was only 35lbs. We could see her ribs. Immediately she was the biggest sweet heart. We then had our son and they started to grow up together. She's been the healthiest, happiest, sweetest dog to everything and everyone. Anyone who felt uncomfortable around pits like my mother quickly changed their minds. Shes one of my kids She knows what time every morning and every day when it's time to take and pick up the kids from the bus stop. She walks so proud and so amazingly on her leash. She loves to sun bathe on the deck anywhere there is sunshine. She gets along with every family members dog and even their cats. Absolutely the kindest dog ive ever met Her surgery, follow ups, and chemo will be well into 9,000 we just need help getting her through surgery and making her as comfortable as we can to love out the rest of her life She has been the healthiest dog until her growth on her face a year ago which was not cancer and her level 2 soft cell carcinoma 10 months ago. She had it removed once before now we have to do it again and start chemo to keep the tumor small. Without chemo the tumor will be back even faster then last time. She is a snuggle bug, a lap dog. Not afraid to cover you in hair and kisses. When I lost my brother she just laid with me and kissed away my tears. She saved me. She comforted me. She always lays on her back for belly rubs. Always seems to have a smile on her face especially when she's excited to do something
