Loki is a rescue from a shelter in Oregon and has been with us for 12 years. He was returned to the shelter four different times from other adopters due to his bad behaviors before we adopted him. We fell in love right away and have never looked back. Loki fit right in with the crew of other dachshunds and the bigger pups too. He's been my husband's buddy for a very long time. Loki is a barker first when friends or family come to visit, but he loves every one of them. Our oldest granddaughter carried Loki from room to room when she was little calling him "her little buddy." Loki would make routine visits to her bedroom when she spent the night or day with us checking up on her or snuggling under the blankets next to her while she slept. Loki is a clown like most miniature dachshunds, he used to run around playing with our Doberman acting as if he was the same size as her. He loves to go for truck rides even if it's a short ride with his dad. When his dad leaves the house Loki doesn't move from the front door even if I tell him to move. He lays down waiting for his dad to come home staring at the door. He's a crazy puppy. Like most miniature dachshunds, Loki has bad teeth. Before my husband's accident, we had his teeth cleaned regularly, and now we are struggling to afford the cost of a dental cleaning. The bacteria buildup on his teeth is causing pain throughout his head and body. Loki is sick and lethargic all day. Dr. Hays from Button Brand Veterinary Clinic is the clinic Loki will go to. My husband is on Social Security Disability and I am presently waiting for SSID to approve my claim. We are on a fixed income. Healing Loki gives my husband a few extra years to love on his best friend. Loki means the world to him and me. The loss would be devastating.
