During a rescue attempt, at a puppy mill, someone had tried to throw a dog in the trash. A volunteer saw, as they were getting ready to leave and hurried over and saved her and realize she was pregnant. A few months later, our Rufio was ready to come home to us. Rufio would only slide down the steps when he was a puppy. That is why we call him Rufio from the movie Hook. Rufio sleeps with us every night and is by my side 24/7 he is my little shadow! My 2 little kiddos play fetch with him and make obstacle courses which he has mastered. I he is truly the perfect companion. Rufio is a support animal for my youngest, who has a rare auto immune disease. He knows just how to make her smile and loves to run around with her and alert us if there are any issues that may cause her harm. He is completely in love with the snow, and it is my favorite part of winter to watch him play with the kids in it. About 2 years ago Rufio started to limp. The Veterinarian said he had a floating patella/kneecap. Every once in a while, it would pop out of place and go back in. However, it no longer goes back in and now is requiring surgery that is almost $4000. He can’t hardly walk and is in pain. This is not what any of us are coming. A few months ago, my little brother was murdered. We have been trying to find a private investigator to find the killer, but it is becoming very expensive, especially with our daughters increasing medical needs. I work as much as possible but it just never enough.
