Penny
Penny is a 7 year old Catahoula Cur in Bethany, OK, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.
Bethany, OK
This is Penny. She and her brother, Apollo, are a mix Catahoula Hound. We have had them both since they were weaned. They belong to my daughter and son and they are 7 years old. They have a big backyard and Penny is very active and athletic. She has been struggling for over a year now. We had a difficult time diagnosing her. She is greatly loved. This has been going on for about 18 months. She started having a slight limp. We visited our vet who thought it might be her CCL or maybe a disc in her back. She had x-rays done. The vet felt like it would heal on its own. But it has gotten to the point where she will hardly put her leg on the floor. A new set of x-rays show arthritic changes and she is in pain all the time now. She has difficulty getting getting up from a sitting position. We have had her since she was weaned. My daughter loves her so much. Her and Apollo have never spent a day apart. It breaks our hearts to see her in such pain now. She has always been such an active dog and loves chasing balls. But now she can barely get up. The vet thought over time mother nature would heal her leg. But it has only gotten worse and now she is arthritic. The TPLO surgery is $4K. I had to take early retirement due to medical reasons. I am disabled. In the past 6 months I have had two surgeries and a car accident. I care for my 100 year old mother in my home and I have two children that live here also. I just don't have the money for a $4K surgery.

Fred
Fred is a 0-year-old Bassett Hound Puppy in Guthrie , OK, who needs $1,900 for Fracture Repair.
Guthrie, OK
Fred is a little Bassett hound puppy who’s full of life and loves his human kids, even with a broken leg he’s still ready to play. We got him about a month ago and fell in love with him; we’ve always loved the breed. With everything increased this unexpected problem has occurred and we need help to be able to get him all fixed up. Little Fred lives his 3 human kids. He is very playful and loves to run around chasing them, also loves a good snuggle. He is very gentle and patient with them for being a little puppy. The kids and him soak up every moment together. Fred is a strong little fighter even with his broken leg he tries to play with his human kids. Fred has made friends with our older doggo, Ginger. They live to play around with there human kids. When they are all outside they are on the go non-stop. In the short month Fred has been with us he’s made such an impact on Ginger and the kids. We all love him very much and want to help him get better. Fred had went to work with his human dad and during lunch time he had let him eat in the bed of his truck and unfortunately after he was done jumped out and landed on his back leg causing him to break it. He had taken him to the vet on site and they took a x-ray and established that he had indeed broken his back tibia, They called it a spiral fracture of the tibia. This is a sudden unexpected problem that came upon us and surgery is gonna cost 3000$ and it has to be paid in full before they operate and the only other option was to humanely euthanize him but with his still being so active and lovable we do not want to have to do that

Mabel
Mabel is a six-month-old Pit Bull mix in Oklahoma City, OK, who needs $2,000 for hip surgery.
Oklahoma City, OK
When Shannon M. saw an alert on her Nextdoor app about a sad dog dumped in an apartment complex that needed help, she raced to the pup's rescue. "I found her at that complex," Shannon tells Waggle. "She was skin and bones. I took her to the veterinarian and found that she had a dislocated femur and a fractured hip. She also has hairless patches, which our veterinarian believes are from being either hit by a car or thrown out of a car." Shannon named her Mabel, brought her home, and made her a family member. But Mabel needs surgery to fix her leg and hip for a bright, pain-free future. "This poor angel deserves a good life," Shannon says. "Mabel is only six months old, so she's brought some energy to the household. We can't wait to take her on long walks, kayaking, and hiking once her surgery is completed and she's fully recovered. We are a dog family. It is just my husband and I and our three rescued dogs. They are our children. We would do anything for them." Shannon was the good Samaritan Mabel needed. Now the duo needs your help! Shannon is trying to raise the money for Mabel's surgery. "While we take responsibility caring for our animals, Mabel's rescue was not foreseen," Shannon says. "I just happened to see her and could not let her starve to death at that apartment complex. We did not plan to rescue another animal, but she needed to be rescued!"
