I adopted Wednesday from an accidental backyard pregnancy when she was 9 weeks old. We named her Wednesday because the way she looked at us under her eyebrows reminded us of Wednesday Adams. She lives with us and our 6 kids and one other dog on a few acres where she gets to run around and play. Wednesday was until recently, the most friendly, energetic dog you'd ever meet. She loved to chase a laser and would spend hours chasing a ball. She has her kennel that she sometimes chooses to sleep in, but her favorite place is on the couch or in bed with one of her humans. She especially likes crawling in with our 6 yr old at night. I am Wednesdays favorite human..... I think it's a girl thing. She loves to lay on my legs every time I sit down. She is fascinated with water... Hose, kiddie pool... She'll chase a sprinkler back and forth till she drops. When she first discovered her shadow she kept trying to attack it. It was hilarious watching her bound around like a tiny gazelle trying to catch it! Wednesday broke her leg December 18,a radiua/ulna fracture with mild dislocation. We had it set and splinted and she did well once she got home. 2 weeks later she ran outside in the pouring rain and got it soaked so we had to take her to another vet as ours was closed to have her sedated, xrayed and re-splinted. Unfortunately at some point it got wet again and she now has a serious infection. Our emergency fund is gone. Her first vet visit was $476. The 2nd one to re-splint $241. Today's visit to clean the wound was $255.06. She has to have her 2 toes amputated Monday and we have no more money and our care credit is maxed out from a dental emergency last month.
