Pancho

Pancho is a 15-year-old Domestic Short Hair Cat in Portland, OR, who needs $2,000 for Dental Surgery.

Portland, OR

Pancho was adopted from a shelter in Dekalb, IL back in 2012. He was separated from all the other kitties due to his FIV+ status. Initially when my partner (then in high school) adopted him he was only going to adopt one cat, but when he got to the shelter he noticed two cats separated from all the other kitties. Come to find out Pancho and his brother Dexter (now deceased) were born with FIV. Pancho loves people! I truly did not believe an extroverted cat existed, but that is Pancho to a "T". He loves belly rubs, and every ounce of attention he can get. He is a great brother who snuggles, grooms, and plays with his two feline siblings. He is a beacon of light and tenacity. The love and compassion he shows humans is unmatched. Pancho lives for food! He is always hungry for a meal, even if it was just 15 minutes ago. His favorite food is any carbohydrate and fresh fish. He will even steal a bite off your fork if he can reach it! He hates squirrels and will yell at any one he sees from the window inside, or while in the backyard. Pancho currently is in need of surgery to have many teeth extracted. He may possibly have bone loss in his jaw due to infection from his decaying teeth. Today (2/23/24) my partner and I took him to see Dr. Froelich at City Pets Vet here in Portland, OR. They are uncertain of the extent of extractions needed, but told us it will likely be the majority. Once in surgery they will see the full extent. I work in the film/tv industry as a costumer. The historic dual strikes in Hollywood during 2023 left me with less than half of my annual income. Despite his FIV status, Pancho has more energy than most cats half his age. There is so much life in this boy!
