I rescued Patan as a stray dog in Ecuador. He was skinny, sick, and missing fur, but grew into the beautiful Husky he is today, gentle and calm thanks to Stich, my sister's dog, who mentored him and recently passed away. We later moved to NYC, where he became a true city dog who loves people, restaurants, snacks, naps, and sunbathing. We now live in Florida. Patan was diagnosed with aggressive oral melanoma. His biopsy showed a mitotic rate of 32 (above 4 is high risk) and incomplete margins, so cancer cells remain. His lymph nodes came back clear, a real relief, but a questionable spot in his lungs means he needs a CT scan to know if it has spread. He urgently needs a second surgery and immunotherapy to keep fighting. Nothing makes Patan happier than having the whole family join him on his daily walks and staying closely next to us wherever we go. He loves people, restaurants, snacks, sunbathing, homemade food, and simply being included in everyday life. He patiently waits for strangers to share food and still gets excited for walks and family time while fighting cancer. After invisible toxic mold displaced our family and wiped out my savings, I'm struggling. I covered his first surgery and months of vet bills, but I can't cover what comes next. Getting Patan healthy again means keeping the one who carried me through everything. Please help.
