Dollie Mama is an 11 year old American Bull Dog who came to us as a foster through Worcester County (MD) Humane Society 1 year ago at Christmas. She was used for breeding and was not spayed at the time which is why we were only fostering her. We immediately fell in love as she wrapped herself round my legs upon meeting her. She lives with 2 humans, 2 other dogs and 1 cat. Dollie Mama immediately became a part of our family. She has an older sister of 15 1/2 years old (Pearly Pants, a 75lb mix) and a 7 1/2 year Am Staff (Roxy, 65lb) and 1 DLH cat named Bella. Roxy and Dollie Mama are best of friends and play together so much. I have been recovery from ankle surgery, and Dollie Mama has been my constant recovery companion. She loves everyone she meets. When it's time for breakfast or dinner, she "woo woo's" for her food, demanding that she get it straight away. She has become the best snuggling woofie and loves to spend her time close to either myself or my husband. If you start giving her scritches and then stop, she will demand that you continue by giving a sarcastic growl!! Good luck stopping the scritches!! Upon Dollie Mama's last visit at the veterinary clinic on December 28, 2023, Coastal Veterinary located in Selbyville, DE (Dr. Altarez, attending veterinary), I let the doctor know that Dollie Mama has a growth on her left side that has been there for approximately 3 weeks and is growing in size. Dr. Altarez is suspicious of a mast cell tumor and recommends removal as soon as possible. I have lupus, an autoimmune disease, that has deteriorated the tendon in my left ankle, and the right ankle tendon has separated from the ankle. I had to retire from a job that I loved, and am only collecting Social Security Income at this point.
