Dozer
Dozer is a 10-year-old Mix in Columbia, PA, who needs $2,000 for Enucleation.
Columbia, PA
This is our boy, Dozer. I call him Bug, which started as Dozer Bug, then Doodle Bug. Dozer came to me at 7 weeks old. He's a hearty mix of Chow, Lab, Beagle, and Pit. I know this because I know his lineage from his Great Grandparents to his Parents. He lives with me and my Fiancee, often traveling between our houses. He loves road trips too! He's a great dog. Dozer is an incredibly bright dog. He understands EVERYTHING and learns very quickly. At age 10, he's still learning new tricks. He knows and loves his "pack". He loves his bed, but loves sleeping in our bed more! Sadly, Dozer lost his left eye due to Sudden Onset Glaucoma in October 2023. He finally adjusted to having only one eye, and learned that he did not have depth perception anymore. Dozer is a talker! He's very expressive, loves to bark at EVERYONE (even his pack). He will playfully growl, if you growl back. He likes vocalize mumbles and grumbles. He does not like baths, but does like being in the water. His favorite toys are his rope, his Fox, and his Wobble Wag Giggle ball and knows which is which if asked. He is such a a fun, loving, dog with a huge personality. My baby needs enucleation surgery on his remaining eye, due to Sudden Onset Glaucoma. His left eye was removed in October 2023 by Dr. Bartlett at Columbia Animal Hospital. Sudden Onset Glaucoma is exactly as it sounds... sudden. Wednesday he was playing with us, by yesterday (Saturday) he was blind. Since Dozer is familiar with Dr. Bartlett and staff, he will remove my baby's other eye. We are on a fixed income and did not expect this to happen so quickly and suddenly. The last surgery cost $2500. We do not have the funds to do it again. Dozer will need additional accommodations after his surgery, as well. We want to make him comfortable and safe.

Chessie
Chessie is a 14-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in York, PA, who needs $1,600 for Thyroidectomy.
York, PA
Chessie has been with me since she was found in a parking lot at only about 5 weeks old. She was so small we kept her in a guinea pig pen so the dogs wouldn't hurt her accidentally and to quarantine her from the other cats. After only a week I came home from work to find her unconscious barely breathing thinking the worst I held her close wetting her mouth with water and hours later she woke up! Chessie is very shy does not like strangers or other cats so she has her her own room with windows so she can watch over the neighborhood. She has plenty of toys her own cat tower and nice soft beds to sleep in. I will visit with her a few hours a day and she is very happy. She does like dogs and had a best friend Bo a boisterous lab the unfortunately passed away. Chessie is very very special to me because nothing gets her down. She has her favorite ball she has had since she was only 2 months old. Sometimes she misplaces it but we always seem to find it. She likes to catch it and throw it back to me. She lovves the to have her windows open to feel the fresh air. Chessie has had her share health issues. She was only 4 years old she developed a melanoma on her eye which later needed to be removed. Several years later she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and her right gland removed. She has recently been diagnosed hyperthyroid and will need her left gland removed I am sure she has a few more years if she can get the surgery. I am on a fixed income since I retired from full time employment but still work my part part time job but have a diabetic dog to care for a mortgage, second mortgage, car payment, credit cards and with the cost of living rising daily I fear I cannot save Chessie without help
