Pippy
Emergency Surgery for Pippy — Help Her Walk Into a New Life
Port Charlotte, FL • Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL
Miss Pippy Longears (lovingly named after Pippy Longstocking) is safe today because someone stopped to help. After being hit by a car, Pippy was found as a stray with no microchip and no known owner. Without intervention, her story could have ended there. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan brought her to Community Care Animal Hospital in Gainesville, where the team reached out to Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL for help. Pippy required emergency surgery to repair severe injuries to both of her back legs so that she could walk again. Combined, her surgery, hospitalization, and treatment cost her rescuers thousands. Despite everything she’s endured, this young pup — estimated to be just 6 to 12 months old — is otherwise healthy and has a long, happy life ahead. It was also discovered that she had a previous fracture that had already healed, a quiet reminder of the hardship she faced before rescue. Today, Pippy is recovering well and has even started walking again. The biggest challenge now is keeping this sweet, spirited girl calm while she continues to heal. According to her foster, she is as loving as she is resilient. While her past remains unknown, her future is clear — one filled with safety, care, and love through Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL. Emergency cases like Pippy’s are life-saving but come at a significant cost. With nearly a dog being rescued every day, the need for support is constant. Your donation will go directly toward Pippy’s medical care and help ensure that she continues to get a second chance. Thank you for being part of her journey. 6/29/26 Update: Pippy's Recovery Continues After undergoing emergency surgery to repair both of her back legs, Pippy continues her recovery under the care of Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL. While the surgery was a critical first step, healing from injuries like Pippy's takes time, patience, and careful management. Her recovery includes restricted activity, close monitoring, and ongoing veterinary care to give her the best chance at regaining strength and mobility. For a young, active puppy, slowing down isn't always easy, but every day of rest and rehabilitation is an important part of the healing process. Pippy has already overcome so much since the day she was found injured and alone. Thanks to your support, she has been given the opportunity to recover safely and receive the care she needs during this crucial stage of her journey. Donations continue to help cover the cost of Pippy's surgery, follow-up care, and recovery while allowing Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL to remain ready for the next dog who needs lifesaving help. Thank you for being part of Pippy's story. 7/3/26 Update: Pippy's Happy Ending You may remember that Pippy's journey began with a devastating accident that could have ended very differently. After being struck by a car, she required emergency surgery to repair severe injuries to both of her back legs and faced a long road to recovery. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you and the dedicated care of Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida, Pippy received the second chance she deserved. Today, we're thrilled to share the happiest update of all: Pippy has found her forever home! She is now thriving with a loving family who will continue to cherish and care for her for years to come. What began as a heartbreaking emergency has become a beautiful success story filled with hope, healing, and a bright future. Thank you for being part of Pippy's journey. Your compassion helped make her recovery possible and gave her the opportunity to experience the love and security every dog deserves. Your support also helps ensure that more animals in need can receive the same lifesaving care and second chance.

Loki is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Live oak, FL, who needs $2,200 for Hospitalization and Unblocking.
Live oak, FL
Loki is an outside kitty I've had since he was born. I've got his mom too. Loki is a sweet mischievous boy and loves running around and playing and getting into trouble. We are currently at the vet unable to pay bills past the base exam pay. he has been lethargic, refusing to eat or drink, has a hard spot on his belly, and seems nauseous. We took him to community care veterinarian in gainesville florida for help. He has a blocked urethra He lives with his brothers and dad playing constantly. He is sweet as can be. Loves attention, making messes, and is just the absolute sweetest bundle of joy. We helped a friend who had a pet emergency about a week prior to this and no longer have the funds or a way to get funds to help our kitty. I absolutely adore him and can't imagine my life without his light.

Rocky
Rocky is a 1 Year Old Pomeranian in Gainesville, FL, Who Needs $7,000 for Bilateral Radius/Ulna Fracture Repair.
Gainesville, FL
Rocky is an amazing little boy that I rescued. Last night i was taking him to use the potty and he lunged from my arms and fell directly on his front paws. He fractured both front paws and now needs surgery or he will not be able to walk again. I received an estimate. He is such a sweet calm loving dog. He’s full of love a deserves a good full life. Please help me give him a long prosperous life. He is really the sweetest boy. I currently am a single mother working from home and just don’t have 7k on a surgery, the other option is to put him down or give him up and I can’t bare either of those options.

Osiris
Osiris is a 3 Year Old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Fort White, FL, Who Needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.
Fort White, FL
Both Osiris and his brother were looking for their forever homes when they were about 10 weeks old. I was completely smitten the moment I met both of them. Their bond was so deep, I couldn't imagine separating them from one another. Osiris, unfortunately, tore his CCL and meniscus while running and rough-housing with his siblings. He is going to need TPLO surgery to repair his right rear knee. Community Care Veterinary Specialists in Gainesville, FL will perform the procedure. Osiris is a fierce protector, especially of his little sister, Caoimhe. He loves to lay on the back of the couch, staring outside through the glass doors, vigilantly watching, ready to sound the alarm. He is also the gentlest soul. He adores people, and you can't help but melt when he looks at you with his one floppy ear and partially exposed tongue. His soulful brown eyes hold a hint of mischief. Osiris's brother, Tadhg, was recently in a major car accident and suffered a ruptured kidney and lacerated spleen. He was in the ICU for about 4 days. He has thankfully recovered, but his hospitalization as well as his sister's IDD diagnosis have left us financially strapped

Cynthia
Cynthia is a 8 month old Mix-Breed in Old Town, FL, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Services.
Old Town, FL
Our family has taken in and fixed a family of 7 cats, with Cynthia and her brother Void being the youngest and most recent additions to the family. All the kids live between inside our house, in a barn outside and around our yard. She lives a full life, well fed and extremely loved by us and her siblings. We found Cynthia outside barely moving her back legs, with some blood on her leg and her throwing up. We monitored her at home until we noticed no improvement, and seeming to decline. A noticeable lump also appeared on her belly, with her behavior we decided to take her to the emergency vet UF Health Small Animal Hospital near us. Cynthia is a talker, and cuddler. She loves to follow us through the house and along with any yard activities or chores. Her unique pattern and personality has distinguished her from all her siblings with how much she enjoys being in our personal space. Unfortunately, we are down to one income currently and Cynthia is a huge parts of our lives. We look forward to having her around, cuddling with her, talking to her and playing with her. She is a part of all of our daily lives and our daughter spends a lot of time with her.
