Wicket
Wicket is a 4 year old Shih Tzu in Hudson, IA, who needs $500 for Exam and X-rays Due to Car Accident.
Hudson, IA
I met Wicket on September 10, 2024 when he was just nine weeks old. He was a gift from the man I was dating at the time. He later told me that I was sad all the time, so he got me a puppy and since then, I’m not sad anymore. I am forever grateful for the best gift I’ve ever received! Wicket is named after the Ewok from Star Wars, because he has the same furry, adorable face. Wicket has lived in pain his entire life from undiagnosed entropion. We finally have answers but now need $1,500–$3,500 for surgery and care. Then last week, he was also tragically hit by a car while at Gma’s house. I paid near $500 for emergency care, but his wounds weren't even stitched. He still urgently needs X-rays and a full exam to check for internal injuries. My heart is breaking for him! Wicket and I are inseparable. He’s flown cross-country, logged countless hours as my road-dog, and goes wherever I go—even where dogs aren’t allowed. He’s grown up with my grandkids, and they act as if they’re siblings. He knows my adult kids as “sissy and bubba.” Wicket and I have our own sort of “language,” which anyone who knows us can clearly understand because he’s so incredibly expressive! The last two years have had a devastating financial impact on myself, as well as on my family. I’ve been working exhaustively to recover, and to help them as well. I hate asking for help, and try to never do so… but I have no choice. Wicket trumps my pride, by far!

Meeko
Meeko is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Cedar Falls, IA, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis of Perineal Urethrostomy.
Cedar Falls, IA
I moved to the Midwest around 5 years ago. Not long after getting settled I decided it was time for to get a cat. When I first got him, he was into everything, sneaky, yet super loving and cuddly. His personality kind of reminded me of Meeko from the Disney movie Pocahontas. He really helped me adjust from moving half way across the country and has been through it all with me. We go to Companion Animal Clinic but was referred to Iowa state yesterday. A month ago he became septic, losing a bunch of weight and had to be hospitalized for 2 days. He was a trooper and pulled through. Since then, his penis is unable to retract and vets are thinking perineal urethrostomy. He’s extremely swollen and without detailed imaging we are unable to provide care. He is the biggest BABY you’ll ever meet. His favorite things are to cuddle, give kisses, being held, and just being around you. He always has his tongue out awake or asleep He has the sweetest personality yet he loves to get the zoomies and run all over the house. His tree tower is one of his favorites. He loves to climb on it and even hang his head upside down and just play. Past few months we have battled sickness both physical and mental, injuries due to someone running a red light and totaling our car, and just the financial stress of everyday life. We are completely maxed out and we feel this our last hope
