Salem

Salem is a 5 month old Mix-Breed in Damascus , MD, who needs $500 for Veterinary Exam and Supportive Care for Vomiting.

Damascus, MD

Salem is a female cat who came into my life as a gift from a family friend about four months ago. She is my first pet, and we have no other animals in our home. I named her Salem because I love the fall season and October, and I’ve always wanted to visit Salem, Massachusetts. She has become a very loved member of our family. Salem recently began experiencing repeated episodes of vomiting, which has been very concerning. Although she is still eating, drinking, and acting like herself most of the time, I want to make sure she receives a proper examination to determine the cause and get any treatment she may need. She is scheduled to be seen at Damascus Veterinary Hospital, where they will evaluate her condition. Salem is one of the most special parts of my life. She came into my life as a gift from a family friend, and in the four months I have had her, she has brought me so much love, comfort, and happiness. She is not just a pet; she is my companion and a true member of my family. I have struggled with depression and anxiety, and there have been times when I felt alone. Salem has always been by my side. My family is facing financial hardship after losing loved ones, funeral expenses, and my mom’s loss of income while waiting for a new in-home nursing client. Salem means so much to us, and having her healthy again would mean everything. We just want her to be healthy.

Kona

Kona is a 7 year old Boxer in Frederick, MD, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Knee Repair Surgery.

Frederick, MD

Kona is a rescue who we adopted at 7 months old. She has been with our family since almost the beginning and loves to play, go for walks outside and protect our family. She is a boxer surprise and really wants to get back to normal! Kona tore her CCL and is need of a TPLO surgery to get her knee back to best health. To see her limp around pains everyone that knows Kona. She still wants to be outside running around but this injury is really holding her back. Kona has always been there through the good and not so good days. She is a 60 pound lap dog that treats our family like gold. She looks after us when we are out walking or just hanging around the house. This is an unexpected major medical bill and on a single income with a toddler. We look for help in any way to help mitigate some of the surgery and recovery costs

Ollie

Ollie is a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Germantown, MD, who needs $2,000 for Full-Mouth Tooth Extraction Surgery.

Germantown, MD

Two years ago, Ollie entered my life while I volunteered at a Philly cat cafe. Despite his shy nature, he became a foster turned forever friend. Now, he's an integral part of my home in Maryland, adding joy to my remote workdays. His sweet presence on my desk, curled up on my old fleece is a daily comfort, creating a warm and cherished atmosphere. His affectionate nature makes for a loving home. Ollie, my daily companion, shares my sleep and morning routine. His eager morning stretches mirror mine. He has an insatiable appetite, typical of ginger males. His vocal anticipation for food is met with a creamy Churu snack, but not before he gets some exercise by chasing a laser dot. When not napping, he enjoys bird and squirrel watching. Cuddly Ollie craves lap time and belly rubs. Ollie responds to his name and finds cozy nap spots in overstuffed drawers and laundry bins. Thriving on companionship, he stays close for warmth and quiet bonding time. Remarkably empathetic, he offers emotional support through closeness, not only with me but also with others, transitioning from shyness to a friendly demeanor. Ollie has severe stomatitis, causing acute inflammation and resorptive lesions in his mouth, leading to chronic pain. Dr. Pamela Armstrong at Damascus Veterinary Hospital is treating him and recommends a full-mouth tooth extraction surgery, proven to offer significant and long-term relief, improving his quality of life. Financial instability due to a career change makes it hard to cover this surgery. Every contribution, no matter how small, will alleviate Ollie's pain and restore his health. Any support would be deeply appreciated, bringing relief to both Ollie and me.
