I have had Boogie since she was 9 months old...she was found in a blue Rubbermaid near a homeless shelter and the person who found her called me to take her in. She is now 16 and has been there as I lost most of my sight after brain surgery. She has a loving home but financially we are struggling to survive daily. Boogie has developed an infection in her gums that has gone into her jawbone. She is in pain and needs emergency surgery to relieve her suffering. I cant lose her. We need help. Boogie is such a sweet and quirky girl...She howls her "old lady" songs at sirens and does her happy dances on her back with her paws over face. She loves to smile while she snores and covers herself with my blankets. She is such a sweet little girl who tells you everything with her eyes and if I cant see she climbs on my leg and gives a great big "arf!"..... I am disabled...mostly blind with a brain condition that puts me in and out of the hospital. My elderly father still works to help me cover bills and we are struggling to survive daily. Boogie is a huge part of my life and our home. Having her healthy is everything to me.

"Pupp" belonged to my 25-year-old son, (may my baby rest in peace.) When we lost my son tragically about a year ago, of course I took Pupp in. He is my grand pup and he is truly an extension of my son. Pupp’s a very healthy dog. He’s gone through a lot of trauma, but he has dealt with it very well. He’s surrounded by so much love and he’s very well taken care of however, he recently leaped high up onto the bed and tore his ACL. I took him into the vet right away. Then I took him for a second opinion, and the veterinarian recommends that we do the surgery to replace his ACL before the other one g Pupp is like a spirit dog to our family. We are still grieving the loss of my 25-year old son, who lived in Sacramento and we live in San Diego county, so when the detectives told us, there was a dog wandering around the scene and wouldn't leave my son's side, I knew right away, it was my son's dog, Pupp. My son took Pupp everywhere with him, and he was truly his child, as my son had no kids. I’ve never had any challenges taking care of Pupp’s basic needs, but a chunk of money like this for a surgery is a bit much for me, as I am a single parent.
