Kota

Kota is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Sarasota, FL, who needs $1,000 for Strained Muscle/Possible Torn Ligament.

Sarasota, FL

We got Kota when she was a sweet little puppy! She has been there through everything with us as a great support and lovable pup. She is a spoiled rotten only puppy. She is very protective of her house but is so sweet and cuddly. She loves laying out in the sun and running around the yard. But she will never pass up a good nap. Kota jumped off the bed and slipped on the flooring. Ever since she has had a limp. I have worked with her and taken her swimming for physical therapy and it helps some, and then she re injures it. Sometimes ahe barely puts weight on it. It's a viscous cycle and I hate seeing her hurt. I haven't taken her to the vet yet but I'd like to go to Dr. Nina's animal clinic. Kota is the sweetest girl and is so protective of her family. She gets spoiled rotten, but especially by her Nana and papa. Loves rough housing with the boys and snuggling up during a rainstorm. She's getting to be an old lady but she is still a puppy at heart. She likes laying out in the sun and running around the yard and watching the birds torment her. I'm on a fixed income and a single mom of 3. I work hard to pay everything I can but with school starting and having to prepare for kids to go to school. It's near impossible already to do that let alone to add a hefty vet bill. Any help is appreciated.

Loki

Loki is a 5-year-old Orange Tabby in Sarasota, FL, who needs $2,000 for x-rays, blood tests, thyroid test, and oxygen therapy.

Sarasota, FL

We adopted our kitty Loki about 4 years ago from Suncost Animal League in Dunedin, FL. His name comes from Little Orange Kitty, which is exactly what he was. Just a sleepy Little Orange Kitty all alone in a shelter. He was a little under a year old when we adopted him. He became an important part of our family over these last 4 years. His favorite game is fetching a specific bracelet that I had ever since we adopted him. No matter how far it’s thrown he will rush back with it in his mouth to be thrown again. Sometimes we think that he might have spent his first year of life near a dog because of this. He sleeps on a pillow and underneath a blanket just like a person. In the morning he wakes us up with loudest purrs. I’ve been laid off due to COVID-19 and only recently found a new job. Being laid off put a serious strain on our savings which is why we are able to only partially cover our Loki’s medical care needs and need help fast. Today we took Loki to a vet because he started to act differently and breathing far more rapidly than normal. The vets opinion is that he might have heart and respiratory issues that are quite severe. He requires various testing and treatment that might include a 24/7 care which is very expensive. He has a little sister Katia, she was adopted from a different shelter about a year after him. Loki has been her mentor and her best friend all these years. As a matter of fact she repeats everything after Loki, almost mirroring him constantly. Loki is a huge fan of kitchen towels that have lemons or oranges on them. He thinks a kitchen towel is the best place to nap
