Bunnums

Bunnums is a 13-year-old Shorthair Cat in Cortez, CO, who needs $2,000 for Brain MRI.

Cortez, CO

Bunnums was my landlord’s cat from next door whom I fell in love with over the years. She chose me as her owner, and ultimately my landlord gave her to me for that reason. Due to medical issues I am having, I have been unable to afford the vet care she needs. Any help is appreciated to get this sweet girl the care she desperately needs. Bunnums likes to bask in the sun on the couch. She usually makes a loud meow when she is touched. She's enjoys being brushed and watching the birds from the window sill. Bunnums is a very talkative girl. She is more vocal than most cats. She’ll let you know exactly how she is feeling and if you have offended or pleased her. Bunnums has seen a vet twice for the unusual health problems she is having but nothing was found with a general evaluation. But I think more in-depth care is needed. She seems to have something neurological going on that is affecting her balance, causing her to tilt her head, vomit and just seem off. My health issues as well as a recent sudden and tragic event affecting my employment has been the reason I have been unable to pay for the very care needed for this girl. My employers were tragically killed in a place crash, whether I will have a job soon is questionable.

Zelda

Zelda is a 2-year-old Siberian Husky Mix in Kirtland, NM, who needs $2,000 for Fracture Repair and Tooth Extraction.

Kirtland, NM

I adopted my derpy baby when I moved into my first apartment at the beginning of 2022. I adopted her when she was exactly 4 months old on Valentine’s Day😊.. She was perfect and was actually the poster puppy for the adoption event. Sadly I’ve fallen on hard times and lost my first apartment as well as my car. I also just found out I’m 7 weeks pregnant. We now live with my bfs family. She is sort of skittish but once she gets to know you she is the sweetest most loving girl. She loves to play fetch and cuddle. She cuddles with me and my boyfriend all the time. And loves to be apart of everything. She follows us into the kitchen and loves to go on hikes and river walks in the summer. She’s just a super energetic and loving dog. She makes crazy funny faces. Most people I’ve met said she’s super intelligent and interesting. Some compare or to a baby piglet and some say she looks like a deer. She gets sassy when you don’t pay attention to her and will do anything to draw your attention back towards her😂 including grunting pushing you and even winking😂😂. She’s the most interesting dog I’ve ever met. On the eve of 01/01/24 Zelda ran off. She doesn’t normally do this. My bf went in the backyard and found her bloodied up with a possiblebroken leg, broken tooth and lacerations everywhere. We aren’t exactly sure what happened. But it looks like she either was attacked by a buck got caught in fencing, hit by a car or a human beat her. Angels Among Us in Bloomfield, NM seems like our best option. She is my everything. We just found out we are expecting our first child after a miscarriage in September. We have yet to find a job as we moved during the holidays and we have to wait on housing assistance for at least 6 months. I would do anything to get her better😞

Cole

Cole is a 9-year-old Persian Longhair Cat in Durango , CO, who needs $1,250 for Amputation of Left Back Leg.

Durango, CO

Cole is a very special and amazing cat. He was given to my son by a very good friend of his. My son thought it would be a good idea for me to have a kitten to help with my depression and loneliness. Cole and I hit it off from the start. He is a very loving and sweet cat. He loves attention and is very vocal LOL. He loves to play with my granddaughter and has a host of friends everywhere he goes. I knew Cole was special from the start. He was born with extra paws and claws on his front feet. He uses them like thumbs LOL. Cole and my granddaughter are best friends. He follows her around everywhere. They play for hours. He's never scratched her, or anyone for that matter. Cole brings so much joy to my heart. He is so affectionate and loving. He is a part of our family. Cole has a host of friends in the neighborhood. He makes his rounds daily,to visit all the neighbors. they give him food and treats, and he even takes naps in their houses. Every morning he walks out to greet the maintenance men. He is very vocal and talks to everyone. His best friends are a chiweenie and my granddaughter. It is so comical to see them play together. Cole was injured on 2-16-23 we believe it was from an auto accident. His left back leg was mangled badly. He lost a lot of blood and was in an extreme amount of pain. My son Carl rushed him to the animal hospital. Unfortunately they were unable to save his leg. But the kind and caring people at the animal hospital saved his life. We are so grateful to them all. I am an elderly disabled lady who lives on a fixed income, and I couldn't afford the surgery required to save his life. The great people at the animal hospital who treated him are working with us, but we could really use some help to make sure our friend Cole makes a full recovery.

Bridger

Bridger is a 4-year-old Golden Mix in Durango, CO, who needs $461 for Mast Cell Tumor Removal.

Durango, CO

I adopted Bridger from the local humane society in May of 2018. He was 3-4 months old, and had been found in the dumpster behind a Travelodge when he was only a few weeks old. He lives with me and my partner in a house with just out of town now, but I've had him since I was a junior in college, so he's live with a few roommates along with way. He's a fairly mellow boy, but he's got a lot of sass when it comes to getting what he wants. He loves belly rubs in the bed before coffee, chasing bugs in the backyard, and has a lot to say if he thinks he isn't getting enough attention. He likes to be in our vicinity and be able to see us, but has to be in a special mood to want to cuddle with us. He thinks dog toys are boring lol The first month I had Bridger, a wildfire started upvalley from our house and quickly inundated the town with smoke. I have asthma, and quickly started having attacks in my sleep. This baby of a puppy learned how to jump on the bed so he could wake me up and alert me, and it's something he still does to this day if I'm having breathing issues in my sleep. Bridger has a mast cell tumor on his abdomen that was originally thought to be a lipoma. It tripled in overnight the day before my birthday, and the vet aspirated it and informed us he'd need a bit of an invasive surgery to remove it since it was in a complex area of his abdomen. I am photographer that works for themselves, and have already made an exceptional dent in my savings to get through the slow season. I just don't have the funds for his surgery. I had a pop up photobooth to help raise money, but I'm still almost $500 short.
