Fudgesicle came to me via the euthanasia list at our local shelter. As a stray, he arrived at the shelter and was given two weeks to be adopted before going on the euthanasia list because the shelter was over crowded. Fudgesicle’s energy and zest for life shined through the darkness of the shelter. I couldn’t leave this spitfire to die, so I took him on as a foster. Fudgesicle has cherry eye in both eyes, which is caused by a gland in the eye pocket getting enflamed, and protruding from the eye socket. Another one of my fosters has the same condition. The cherry eye causes discomfort and can lead to chronic dry eye. Fudgesicle or Fudgy is a happy, energetic dog who is the life of the party. Fudgesicle gets along with other dogs and children. This boy has the cutest zoomies but calms down and loves cuddles with his people. I have several fosters. I love my foster pups and take care of all their food, entertainment needs and vaccinations. I just can’t afford additional medical expenses, even though I know the cherry eye surgery will make his life so much better. Please help Fudgesicle!

Osaka is a rescue pup. Sadly, her owner dumped her, and Good Samaritans saw Osaka chasing after a car. The car never stopped, so she was brought to the shelter. Her story captured my heart right away. Osaka is the definition of sass and spunk. Her loving nature spoke to me, and I couldn't let her languish in the shelter. In conjunction with a rescue, we got Osaka out of the shelter. Osaka has cherry eye is when the tear gland becomes swollen and protrudes, causing the eye lid to flip. As you can see, Osaka has a red lump which looks like a cherry. She is in pain due to the dryness and discomfort. It's hard for her to close her eyes. Osaka doesn't realize that she has an illness. She is still a spirited little girl that enjoys nothing better than climbing in her favorite human's lap. While I am her guardian, she has a better chance of finding her forever home without the cherry eye. Some people just can't see past her eye to appreciate the beautiful dog that she is. I have several fosters that I am caring for and don't have the additional medical funds on top of providing food and shelter for my dogs. Osaka deserves to find a forever home and to live the very best life possible.

Hiroyuki came to Saving Grace Rescue from a high kill shelter. He was born with severe eyelid agenesis and cystic lesions behind his eyes causing pain and blindness. At only ten weeks old, sweet Hiroyuki needs surgery to remove both eyes. He is also crytptorchid requiring abdominal surgery for his neuter procedure.
