At 3 months old, Hondo & his brothers were found by my bro-in-law being starved by their original owner. Since he had 2 dogs already, he could only keep 1, so my husband & I drove from Missouri to New Mexico to pick up Hondo & his brother, Louie. We fell in love instantly with how SWEET they were even though they were being treated so poorly. Now, they live in a loving home with a big backyard! Hondo had some complications from the malnourishment including issues with how his bones grew and this along with his breed made him even MORE susceptible to torn ligaments. He now has torn ligaments in his back leg and a 90% chance of tearing the other leg' s ligaments. Hondo is SO special because he came into our lives unexpectedly and at a time of grief. We lost our very first pup a few months prior and were struggling to fill the void in our lives. He is gentle, loving and gives the best snuggles! He loves to play outside, lay in the sun and play "tag" with his dog brother. He greets every new person with an actual smile and loves to be loved on! We were not in a place to take on two dogs, but knew we had to give them a loving home. We are on a fixed income with only my husband able to work at this time, but we know we have to do this surgery so Hondo can live his BEST life & be able to run and jump with his brother!

Hi, my name is Nikki and I’m the mother of this beautiful little Maltese boy named Ice. He is 1 years old and unfortunately has to have abdominal surgery for removal of an unknown foreign material. I am a mother of a newly born baby girl name Anaiah who is 3 weeks old and I don’t have any funds to get him to the vet for surgery. I don’t have pet insurance for him. Anything is appreciated. Thank U. Ice is a friendly loving puppy who greets everyone with a bunch of kisses and jumps. He is a people person and loves to interact with other dogs. He has such a big heart. Full of love and life. Ice is a dog who loves to play with his squeaky toys. He is the toy king lol. When we go on car rides he just knows he’s getting a new toy. But this last car ride was not to the pet store but to the vet office with unsettling news for both of us. Ice is a normal healthy dog who loves to run around and does his daily laps in the living room. Because of this unexpected trauma that is causing him to not be himself. Immediate surgery is required. Sudden Major Expense. He is a puppy and they get into things. Unfortunately he has a blockage in his stomach that requires abdominal surgery to remove.

I first got Johnny when a coworker of mine could no longer care for him. Since then he has always been sweet, playful, and has always been a wonderful companion. He's sweet and playful and loves to snuggle, and when he wants to lay down you have to tuck him under the covers or he simply stands there. It's very silly. He's alwaysa sweet and unafraid, unless you're an on fire firework. He absolutely despises them and they make him hide under the covers until the next morning. In the past 10 days he started acting strange, not eating or drinking much water. Within the past week he stopped standing up and he can't hold up his head. His breathing is labored and his feet are swollen. Recently he went to the vet and it already cost us 1300 dollars and we still don't know what is wrong with him despite the tests run for him. We are currently struggling to be able to pay for any other testing or procedures. Any little bit counts.
