Harvest was abandoned by his owner when they moved away and a neighbor brought him into the county shelter a few weeks later. He was in bad shape with severe ear mites and infection in both ears. Harvest was treated for both but left with permanent damage. He was adopted by a loving family in January 2020 after spending 3 months in the shelter system! Because of my disability, I’ve been through quite a bit of surgery and Harvest has been an exceptional buddy to me when I was down and out for recovery. Harvest is my best friend, sleeps with me every night and is there to happily greet me every time I enter the house. We have become a support system for one another after both going through rough times and I can't imagine my life without him. Last year felt like I had escaped a nightmare when my abusive marriage ended. My divorce finalized and I was able to come terms with having a serious, genetic, life long, physical disability. I am on a fixed disability income and I would do anything to get my Harvest well. Both ears were FULL of ear mites and the Pinnas are full of scar tissue; they were both Hematomas at one time but from lack of treatment for a long period of time the damage proved permanent. He has experienced chronic ear infections since adoption and requires lateral/vertical ear canal ablation surgery to resolve the issue. Dr. Yash from Hawthorne Animal Hospital is Harvest's veterinarian. Harvest is the most special boy! He is OBSESSED with getting brushed!! He has the cutest little meows and let's me know when he needs pats or treats or he just needs me to look at him. He is hilarious and has made himself 100% at home since the minute he walked through my door. He is one of a kind and he is my whole world.
