Reggie

Reggie is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $500 for Medication and Treatment of Skin Condition.

Pittsburgh, PA

Reggie was adopted bc the owners of his mother were on drugs and couldn’t afford the cats. He was so sweet and playful and came after one of my other 2 cats was hit by a car and killed in front of my home. He warmed our hearts. I am a single mom of two wonderful daughters and Reggie is one of 2 male cats in my home. He is wonderful sweet and charming. Right now I am out of work and on unemployment. He suddenly developed a skin condition where he is chewing his fur off and seeking treatment thru the humane society. Because I am out of work and living off unemployment I can not even afford a small amount of care. I start a new job in September but my cat needs care now. Reggie is wonderful playful and made a great companion to my other cat who’s heart was broken when his best friend was hit by a car in front of our home. I am in between jobs currently living off unemployment I am a single mom to two teenage girls. I live my fur babies and never had issues taking care of them but his condition came at a time when I am in a tough transition.

Comet

Comet is a 7-year-old Stray in Pittsburgh , PA, who needs $300 for Cutting Mats Out and Checkup.

Pittsburgh, PA

As you can see by the pics I used to be a rescue mommy. I lost my home and am living in an apartment now. My other cats went to good homes but two of them crossed the rainbow bridge except Comet. My daughter has him and needs help because he is matting badly and neither one of us can afford pet care. Could someone please assist us? He went from being a thriving cat with a slew of friends to a housecat because my daughter lives in an apartment. But it was better than getting put down. I sold my jewelry my dad gave me when i was little to buy pellets and food for him. Any help would be appreciated. Comey is such a sweet cat. He’s a talker and hes so wonderful. He came from a big family of cat friends and one dog friend. I want him to be pain free and have food so my daughter wont have to struggle to feed him. I’m grateful she took him in rather than letting him get put to sleep. He was a stray from a mommy cat who was giving birth until they came and did a roundup in my old neighborhood fixing all the cats. Hes fixed. He hasn’t had a vet appointment because he was a big family of stays that I feed in my old back yard. The matting is getting bad and I don’t want to cut it out I have been rendered disabled by my doctor and am waiting for a decision from ssdi. I am facing homelessness because my apartment building is converting to full StayAlfred and want me out by February 2023

Photo of Two Boos

Two Boos

Two Boos is a five-month-old kitten in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $1,000 for leg surgery.

Fort Collins, CO • The Street Dog Coalition

I am a vet who volunteers with The Street Dog Coalition, providing care to pets of people experiencing homelessness. Two Boos belongs to a woman named Laura who was homeless, but recently found housing. Two Boos was out exploring in an unsafe area and got caught in a hole under a rock. Her rear leg broke and had to be amputated, and unfortunately, there were post-surgical complications. Two Boos has a wonderful mix of a determined spirit alongside a gentle and understanding sense of self. Her determination to heal was apparent in that she allowed me to perform multiple bandage changes and she put up with daily medications and a cone around her head 24/7. Much more so than the average feline would be willing to endure. Two Boos’ owner, who was previously homeless, does not have the funds for veterinary care. While I was able to provide a free month of medical foster care, the hospital bills had to be paid. Our PA Street Dog Coalition team is now trying to refill the kitty (pun intended). 11/12: Amputated rear right leg at Animal Friends Shelter. 11/19: Back into surgery for dehiscence and infection. Medical foster for 2 weeks. 11/22: Shivering, discharge, odor. 11/22- 11/24: Temp WNL and BAR. 11/25: Additional surgery at Humane Animal Rescue (HAR). 12/2: Continued treatment. 12/3: Recheck at HAR. Medical foster continued beyond 2 weeks. 12/19: Two Boos healed and returned home Two Boos was amazing to work with and her calm personality is likely was the reason for her eventual healing. She was also very sweet with my household pets and family members. She adapted to having only three legs and entertained us with her sweet nature and keen interest in pair of unicorn slippers.
