Muki
Muki is a 9 year old Chihuahua in Osprey, FL, who needs $1,000 for Dental Surgery with Extractions and Medications.
Osprey, FL
Muki was adopted on Easter 2017 and became the little sister to Kyva as she entered our family. She lives with a liver shunt & has seizures. However, that hasn't stopped her from bouncing around the house, twirling like a ballerina, whooing like Chewbacca, and being a personal space invader. Her wiggly crooked tail always brightens your day! Muki has a big heart and tiny teeth—most of which are causing her pain. She needs dental surgery to remove damaged and infected teeth to ease her discomfort and help her live a healthy life. We're taking her to the Humane Society of Manatee County, where she’ll get the care she needs to eat, play, and smile again without pain. Muki is the little sister to Kyva and is a Daddy's girl. She loves to go on car rides and take naps. She snores louder than her humans! If not cuddled with her sister, she loves to be snuggled with her parents. Muki likes to howl like a great big wolf in a teeny tiny body. She makes her family laugh with her funny faces. Muki needs dental surgery, but we’re financially stretched. Her Dad is back in school to get his LMHC, he has had major surgery recently, and our home took damage in the 2024 hurricanes. Seeing Muki's smile healthy & pain-free again would mean the world to us.

Kyva
Kyva is a 11 year old Chihuahua in Osprey, FL, who needs $1,000 for Dental Surgery with Extractions & Medication.
Osprey, FL
Rescued July of 2015. She had a cast on her left leg from being stepped on as a pup & no one doing anything about it. Rescue agency had to re-adjust leg, place in rods & multiple screws. Kyva has been a part of our family for 10 yrs, cast free & is one of the happiest, most lovable dogs you will meet. While scared of everything she is also curious about everything & is a Daddy's girl. Kyva is suffering from severe dental disease causing pain, difficulty eating, and infection risk. She needs dental surgery at the Humane Society of Manatee County to remove damaged teeth and treat infection. Without treatment, Kyva’s condition could worsen, leading to infection and pain. This procedure is essential for her comfort, health, and quality of life. Kyva is happiest when we go for a ride because she gets to go visit grandma. She can often be found laying in weird positions or acting like an ostrich by hiding her head under the covers. She is special to us because of her story & how she cares for her sister Muki who suffers from seizures. She also likes to bark from her bed at the Amazon delivery man. Kyva's Dad recently returned returned to school for his LMHC, and this past years' hurricane damage to our family home strained us financially. Seeing Kyva healthy again would bring relief and comfort to our family. We want to see her tail wagging again!

Kona
Kona is a 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Bradenton, FL, who needs $465 for Dental Cleaning and 3 Extractions.
Bradenton, FL
Hi everyone. My fiance and I have been unable to have a child of our own so we decided to add a furbaby to our forever home! We live in florida and my fiance found her in Ohio and had her shipped to our home by a pep nanny service. We had looked at buying a puppy to add to our family but with all of the scams out there it was very tough to trust anyone. Kona is a year old and still has 3 baby teeth, 2 on the top and one on the bottom. Doctor says the baby teeth need to be removed ASAP because they will harm her adult teeth which can cause more costly issues. We go to the Manatee County Humane Society for treatment as it can be more affordable then a vets office. Kona is an amazing puppy and has great mannerisms. She has a quiet bark and is so cute. She is loving, gives lots of kisses and does NOT bite at all. She is a bit hyper and has "zoomies" more often then not, but she makes us laugh. She is a great therapy dog for our 9 year old autistic son. We don't want anything to happen to her. I'm 44 and had a heart attack with 2 stents and have been told by my cardiologist not to work anymore. I'm a type 1 diabetic and struggle with multiple health issues myself and between my own medical issues, I can't afford to have konas teeth done.

Pepi
Pepi is a 14.5 year old Chihuahua in Sarasota, FL, who needs $450 for Dental services.
Sarasota, FL
I rescued Pepi 14 years ago from Manatee Humane Society. I am a 75 years old disabled widow and wear hearing aids. Pepi is my service dog, as he is my ears when I don’t have hearing aids in and he is my companion. Pepi is in need of having his teeth cleaned and being on a fixed income, I am not able to afford it. He also had heart worms when I rescued him, so he’s on heart worm medicine and is ok now. I was recently informed he also has a heart murmur which I’ll have to find help to have his heart checked to see if medicine is needed. Pepi is my only companion and he’s loved by everyone that sees him. He gets excited when company comes and loves attention. The people where we live call him the crier as he doesn’t bark, just cries when he sees people walking their dogs wanting to play with the other dogs. Hurricane Ian took my carport off my house and I’ve had to put out $17,000.00 to have it replaced plus my roof repaired and some of my ceiling. Also I’ve had surgery since the hurricane and with all the expense, I need a little help for my little guy.

Finn
Finn is a 6-year-old Yorkipoo in Parrish, FL, who needs $450 for Teeth Cleaning.
Parrish, FL
Hi ~ This is our baby, Finn. He's six and is just the joy of our lives. We got him to help with anxiety that our daughters were experiencing. He has become our little boy. There isn't anything we wouldnt do for him. He has helped our girls so much, and we feel we owe him for that. He saved them! He's a gift to us. Finn lives with his mommy and daddy and two human sisters. He's VERY attached to his mommy. He likes to zoom around the house and play with his toys. Treats are his favorite. He watches TV with his humans at night and sleeps wedged against his mommy. Finn is a character. He was human in another life, I'm sure. He just knows when things are bothering us or making us happy. Also, hours before we even start to get ready to go out, he knows! He follows us around and won't take his eyes off of us. It's endearing. Finn has a sensitive stomach & bad allergies. He is always scratching and licking. We're investigating this. He's on apoquel twice daily & ointment for his hot spots. He also has a large growth on his back that needs to be removed. Our campaign now is for teeth cleaning. His are bad, and the vet says he needs it done or he will have additional issues. His vet is the Manatee County Humane Society. This year has been very hard both financially and emotionally for us. I know everyone is having a tough time. Our situation stems from family health issues. I cannot go into detail. I'm sorry.

Cooper
Cooper is a 5-year-old Coon Hound in Bradenton, FL, who needs $1,000 for Ear Treatments.
Bradenton, FL
I drove to South Carolina to pick up this beautiful baby boy because his situation was very bad. He was all skin and bones with no hair. I got him up to 55lb and his hair grew back and is super happy and super lovey. He’s a hugger. Cooper has a sister that is a husky and a sister whom is an Apple head Chihuahua. He loves playing with Kona (the husky) and makes sure that Brooklyn Jane is safe. He loves to go on car rides. We live in an RV so we travel and he loves it so much. Cooper is pretty docile and loves to walk back and forth until he is ready to sit or lay down. He loves his treats. He loves loves loves to give hugs. He’s almost as tall as I am so when he hugs me we dance a little bit. When I scratch his butt, his backend dances. When he wants your attention he stomps his front legs 3 times then does a little whine cry then 3 more stomps. Ever since I got cooper he has had ear infections. Once the meds are out of his system they get so much worse. He finally got a culture done and it is the worst kind you can have that can go to the blood stream and kill him. He’s in so much pain. He doesn’t eat and sleeps with his up. He can’t lay on his ears. My financial issue is that I am a 100% disabled veteran. I get paid once a month and have a certain amount that I can spend on them. I don’t have the funds to go to the vet every couple weeks for months on end to nip these ear infections in the bud to get them gone for good

Sheba
Sheba is a 8-year-old German Sheppard in Ellenton, FL, who needs $800 for Heartworm Treatment.
Ellenton, FL
Hi my name is Briana and I’m a 24 year old living on my own, about a month ago I adopted a female adult dog who was abandoned at my place of work by her previous owner. Instead of staying at the pet day care for a short time to return home, she was left there alone and confused for about six months. Then her former owner legally abandoned her and I could bring her home. ❤️ Sheba came into my home feeling sad and afraid. After a bit she has become my shadow! She never wants to leave her. She doesn’t want to be abandoned again. She is amazing with 2 sweet kitties! She is very friendly with everyone and animal that I’ve introduced her to. Sheba is an 8 year old German Shepherd with the sweetest purest soul. We are not too sure about the details of her past, whether she was in an accident, suffered some kind of injury, or just has a bad case of arthritis. She has a severe limp on her upper right arm. I have been taking care of her and trying to provide the proper care she needs to live out the rest of her days being happy and loved The vet says she’s in good health but has unfortunately tested positive for heart worms. The cost of her needed treatment plan is little more than I can handle on my own. Please consider donating so that we can get the proper care needed for my sweet Sheba! Thank you! She will be treated at the humane society in Bradenton. I am a 24 year old single female with 3 animals now. When Sheba was abandoned we had no clue she was heart worm positive. I work at the boarding facility she was abandoned at. Money is tight. I just want her to receive the help she deserves. Thank you for considering helping

Zeek
Zeek is a 8-year-old Rescue Mix in Apollo Beach, FL, who needs $450 for Dog Dental Surgery.
Apollo Beach, FL
Zeek was a rescue from the Humane society of Tampa. He is a happy home body. He loves all people especially kids. He is a big brother to Adalyn and a kitten named Snowflake. My Zeeky spends his days laying on the couch when he’s not enjoying car rides, the dog park, the river, hikes with Adalyn, but most of all cuddling and being fun loving while being a support animal to me. He spends his nights cuddling with me in my bed. When I first got him from the humane society, he was extremely skittish. He is now so friendly and loving and not very skittish at all. He has come such a long way which is one of many reasons why he is so special. He loves to play hide and seek which makes me laugh every time. His smile is so precious it lights up my day every day. Zeke Marie has a severe case of gingivitis and as I’m need of immediate medical attention and possible tooth extractions. This was all discovered at our most recent visit, and the surgery will be conducted on August 18. I am a single father of beautiful 6 year old girl going into first grade. This surgery will cost $450, and I simply can’t afford to pay this amount.

Lilly
Lilly is a 7-year-old Yorkshire Terrier in Sarasota , FL, who needs $450 for Dental Cleaning.
Sarasota, FL
My husband got me Lilly from a woman on Facebook when I was going through chemo treatment. She's been with me through cancer twice and a liver transplant. Unfortunately with my situation I can't hold a full or part time job and Lilly has lost a front tooth and she has very bad decay in her mouth. Her breath is also very bad Lilly Is a sweet baby she loves me and she shows me by giving me kisses and she lays against my back like a comfort. She's been in my life for along tome now and she shows me lover like no other. I just want her to be happy and healthy Lilly is so funny she spins around in a circle when she gets excited and she howels all the time. She loves the ball, any kind of ball she goes crazy when she see it. Lilly is in overall good health however when I was last seen at the Vets they were very concerned about her teeth. She has lost one of her front ones and has trouble eating kibble and even if her mouth touches something a plate she gets to shaking her head almost like it hurts her. I had a liver transplant in 2010 and Lymphoma twice and lots of infections. It seems like I am in the hospital more then home. I just feel awful that I can't afford the dental cleaning I know she is going to also need extractions as well.

TeddyBear
TeddyBear is a 7-year-old Yorkipoo in Bradenton, FL, who needs $500 for Dental Cleaning and Evaluation of Missing Teeth.
Bradenton, FL
TeddyBear is almost 7 years old. He moved to Florida from Massachusetts 3 years ago. TeddyBear is especially loving to my oldest son who is a man with Downs Syndrome. Originally, we had two Bichons in our pack although we lost then to old age last year. TeddyBear now has a new furry friend who joined our family one year ago. She’s a puppy and she keeps him busy. TeddyBear is a lover. He loves everyone and does not understand who do not loves dogs. He will persist quietly always hoping he can when those hearts. TeddyBear always tries hard to sneak in a kiss. He knows when a person is distracted, or upset and he will gradually end up in theat persons lap. As soon as he’s in a lap, he immediately flips himself over, yes, belly up, long tongue hanging out with his tail wagging and a goofy smile. He has the power to make a person laugh no matter what their present problems are bring them down. TeddyBear and little Pepa were playing one evening and I heard a yelp. They keep on playing but Teddy broke it off and came looking for me. Apparently, while playing, TeddyBear got decal top teeth caught in Pepa’s collar and somehow, he lost two teeth from his upper front gums. He needs a vet Dentist to check him out, clean his remaining teeth and see what we can do if anything. I am a disabled senior citizen caring for my adult disabled son. We live on Social Security and SSI. We don’t have an extra dime let alone the $500 to 600 dollars needed to help fix his teeth..

Daisy
Daisy is a 17.5-year-old Bichon in Bradenton, FL, who needs $500 for Dental.
Bradenton, FL
Little Daisy was a rescue. I was supposed to foster her but I couldn’t send the 9 pound wonder away. Now, 15 years later, I am a disabled woman, caring for my 45 year old son with Downs. We left Massachusetts after my Mother passed away. Money is so tight. We barely get enough from SS & SSI to makes ends meet. Our dogs are our stress relievers. We adore them and I would go hungry to feed them. Teddy and Daisy are extremely attached to both myself and my oldest son I’m usually up early so the dogs sit outside my son’s room and act pathetic until he gets up. My son is a 45 year old son with Downs. He is so gentle and loving to these dogs. He had several chores revoked around pet care and he takes pride and gets a. Boost to his self esteem to take care of them. These dogs are our lives. Teddy is know to jump into anyone’s lap and go belly up for rubs. He’s a lover and loves anyone. Teddy is my Emotional Support Doge. He’s great. I’m never alone in any room in our home. Wherever I go, they all follow along. Imagine trying to get around three dogs in a 4”X 10ft bathroom. To me, they are hilarious. Daisy has the worst teeth. She’s 6 lbs and is 17.5 years old. The doctors have assured me that they can get her teeth cleaned. I’m terrified, we will lose her because of her age. Her teeth are horrible and I do not have a spare dime for anything. Thank goodness she is a healthy old lady. We live off SS and SSI. Everything is getting so expensive and our checks remain the same. We live from paycheck to paycheck. We love our dogs and I worry so much that something may happen and we won’t be able to help pay for emergency care.

Sparky
Sparky is a 4-year-old Chihuahua in Bradenton, FL, who needs $400 for Dental Care.
Bradenton, FL
We rescued Sparky at the age of 6 months from a rescue shelter. He was abused by his previous establishment. He has been a miracle for our whole family. He now lives with 3 very loving people who care for him everyday. He gets healthy exercise and adequate training. He loves belly scratches and sleeping next to someone. He is great with kids, dogs, cats. He lives unconditionally. He lives in a big size apartment with 1 teenager, pre-teen, and loving single mother. He is my 16 year old daughters dog and he followed her everywhere. Their bond is beautiful and loving. He sleeps with her, cuddles, plays. He goes wherever she goes. My other daughter loves him just as much. And when it's movie time he is right in my lap. He is our glue in our family. He lives toys. Specifically his treat ball. He loves playing tug a war. This puppy is afraid of rain and thunder and loves hiding under our arms when it's thundering. He loves getting dirty outside. He is fascinated with swimming pools and splashes. He runs in circles everytime there's a splash. He has a bond with our hamster and they love snuggling. Our baby dog has a medical necessity dental surgery. He needs $400 to fix his teeth. If left untreated he loses l2 teeth and will remain in pain. There is no other way around this procedure. Dental treats, and cleaning will never suffice. They will put him under and work in his teeth making them healthy again so he doesn't have to lose it. I am a single mother divorced with 4 kids, 2 of them in college like schooling. I am a teacher living off teacher pay. I do not remotely have 400 dollars for this pressure but I can't bear seeing our dog in pain. There isn't much we wouldn't do to make our puppy better.

Bosun
Bosun is a 2-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Bradenton, FL, who needs $254 for Heartworm Treatment Injections.
Bradenton, FL
While camping in Live Oak, Fl at Thanksgiving I found him after being told he was there for several weeks. You can see in the picture him and I in our tent the first night I rescued him. He was so exhausted but we had an immediate bond. He was not chipped and I was told at the shelter after 2 weeks he would be put down. Well, he came home with me the rest is history. It was meant to be. Bosun is the most amazing, funny, chill, loving little snuggle bug you could ever want in a dog. He loves his home and my kids absolutely adore him. He instantly fit into our hearts and home like he had always belonged there. He chases my cats but is always very gentle. It's like he knows we rescued him, he had a tough life before but now gets tons of love and hugs!!!! He howls when he wants hugs and talks to you when you come home I swear he says I love you. Pushes your hand until you pet him or when he wants attention. and has the most adorable little gallop to his walk. He's a mixed breed so he very unique looking and people always stop to pet him and he's more than happy to accept. I took Bosun for a well check to get all his shots, neuter, and microchipped when I got back. I found out he tested positive for heartworm. I was heartbroken I didn't know much but the clinic explained the treatment process to me and cost, they were amazing with him. I wanted to do all I could to treat him. I paid for his first injection on April 20th. I myself had to have knee replacement surgery (first of two on 4/20) same day as his first shot. I had complications and have been out of work and will be for at least a month. He's due for his next shots 5/17 & 5/18 I'm a single mom and I took a big financial hit.

Nico
Nico is a 8-year-old Shih Tzu in Bradenton, FL, who needs $400 for Dental Cleaning (Possible Extractions).
Bradeton, FL
Nico is an 8yrs old well-beloved Shitzu. He’s a parvo survivor. He’s the most perfect dog and he is the light of my life. He came to our family because other people gave up on him since they learned he had parvo. And he was 12 weeks when it happened, poor thing! We took care of him, and he gladly made it. He is a very calm dog. He loves naps on people’s laps. He loves going on walks. Loves when invite him to go on car rides. He is shy and likes to be in his own space. He likes other dogs, to play a bit and come back to us. We love him very much and the whole family feels so bad for him. We wish we could pay for his treatment. Nico has a four legs sister and they get along very well. She is five years younger than him. They sleep always close to each other. They play, they fight, and they always get in peace again. Just like siblings do. Nico can't hear when someone in the house says something related to walk or going out of the house. He can not miss one opportunity to leave the house. Last Saturday, my daughter was holding him and she said he was missing a front tooth. I was shocked and I checked it myself. Not only he is missing a tooth but seems like he is having a kind of gingivitis or something like that. I feel so guilty about this situation and did not pay attention to his mouth. We are new in our area. Recently moved here. Our financial situation it's not established yet. I contacted the humane society in my area and the treatment is about $380 plus extractions if needed and antibiotics. Any help will help me a lot. And I will pay forward asap.

Charlie Barton
Charlie Barton is a 11-year-old dachshund in Bradenton , FL, who needs $250 for Dental Cleaning and Extractions.
Bradenton, FL
Charlie was 2 years old when his original owners wife was diagnosed with liver cancer. She decided to simplify her life by adopting out some of her animals and asked her neighbors if they wanted any of them. When my nieces and I went over to look at the dogs Charlie jumped right up and we just decided to pick him. Happy I have never regretting it Charlie loves playing with his cousins Lady, Bobo, Woodie, Snickers, Maxx and Honneyy. As the oldest of the bunch even with his dental problems he still will stand up for himself and take the lead even though he is the smalls of them all. He misses them during or travels we have had time to visit them all Charlies favorite thing to do is dollar tree shopping. He goes into his favorite dollar store on a leash(sometimes) finds the pet aisle and picks a toy and carries it around until we get to the register. His item has to be put on up first or he cries. everyone thinks it's too cute. I'm glad he isn't shy Dental problems the humane society has a dentist he needs a few extractions and a cleaning from age. The cleaning and all of the extractions. He needs at least 5 as far as the can see. But they a are included in the final cost. that includes if he need to remain there overnight which I hope he doesn't. But it may be necessary. It would mean so much to me if he felt better. I love him and want him to be healthy. I need him to be. He's my support dog and my best friend. I don't know what I would do without him

Sophie
Sophie — 0f7d78
Palmetto, FL
I rescued Sophie from a Humane Society about 4 yrs ago. She obviously suffered a great deal of physical and mental abuse! Poor little girl just SHOOk!! She was scared of everything! I couldn't help but hold her tight and talk gently to her! When I put her down to look at her, she licked my leg and 💖! We are inseparable, living in our senior apt where she charms all our neighbors! Well, despite my best efforts, her teeth have retained tarter and bacteria and the two big molars on top are now infected with red and swollen gums! Clearly it is painful!!! I have spoken to Manatee Humane Society in Bradenton, FL regarding her needing surgery to remove some and possibly all her teeth! Hopefully we can have her treated as soon as possible, as you can tell it is VERY PAINFUL!!! Sophie is very sweet, but she MUST know where I am at all times! We actually rescued each other as I'd recently lost my daughter to drugs and I needed Sophie to love and love me back! They told me her teeth were a mess when I found her, but her one little "snaggle tooth" that often sticks out just adds to her character! Besides, no one in our family has perfect teeth either! I am retired, living on a very small Social Security income that doesn't provide me much additional to live on! Certainly, not enough for this kind of surgery, but I can't allow Sophie to suffer teeth pain! I LOVE HER TOO MUCH! PLEASE HELP!!!

Lulu Rodriguez
Lulu is a 17-year-old Chihuahua in Bradenton , FL, who needs $2,000 for urgent dental surgery.
Bradenton, FL
Lulu is a lifeline for Jose R. After he rescued her 15 years ago, she soon became an amazing service dog. Jose suffers from seizures and PTSD from volunteering to help after the 9/11 terrorist attack. "The doctors declared Lulu my service animal," Jose tells Waggle. "On days when I'm depressed, she helps me get out of bed by barking at me." Now Jose and Lulu need your help! "One day, Lulu's right eye was swollen," Jose says. "She developed a sudden infection. Then, a week later, the right one was swollen too. A bunch of goo would come out. We went to the vet and got eye drops to see if they would help. We didn't see any improvement, so we kept trying to figure it out." Finally, with assistance from the Humane Society of Manatee County veterinary clinic, they learned some decaying teeth are the culprit. They're causing her gums and face to swell. She needs surgery to remove the teeth and clean the area out. But Jose is having trouble paying for the operation. "I am on a fixed income because I am currently disabled," Jose says. "This was an emergency and very unexpected. I don't have emergency funds. I have no money for Christmas presents for my child." Jose says the best gift he could ever ask for this holiday season is for help paying Lulu's medical bill. The tiny, spunky dog makes a difference in his life each day.

Baxter
Baxter is a 2-year-old Unk in Ellenton, FL, who needs $700 for Perineal Urethrostomy.
Ellenton, FL
Baxter was a stray cat in the neighborhood. We would see him sleeping under a trailer down the road. It took almost a year to get him to come close enough for us to pet him. In time he trusted us and came in the house. Everyone fell in love. One year later, he has made himself at home and is part of the family. Last weekend I noticed Baxter was having a hard time peeing. By Monday he couldn't pee at all and got very sick real quickly. I called everywhere and no one would help. I contacted the Humane Society and they took him right away. They unblocked him but unfortunately Baxter still cannot pee on his own and will need surgery - perineal urethrostomy. Baxter doesn't like loud noises, he hides if someone knocks on the door. I don't know how he managed to survive outdoors. I'm happy he doesn't need to worry about that anymore🙂 He is very smart too! He knows exactly where the treats are kept. He will stand in front of that pantry door until someone goes over and gets him a treat or two. I live week to week and do not have a way to pay for this surgery. The only alternative is euthanization. Baxter is only about 2-3 years old and deserves to be able to live a long, happy life. He has lots of love to give. Please help me save my boy ❤

lola
Lola is a 14-year-old mix in Bradenton, FL, who needs $900 for dental cancer screen.
Bradenton, FL
My daughter brought Lola home from school cause she was going to be killed by a parent. She was only 6 weeks old. My daughter originally named her a different name but the only 1 could remember was Lola so that was her name. I bottled fed her until she became aggressive with bottle then to bowl and soft food. She is my baby where I go so follows. I take a shower and she has to be in the bathroom with me. She has her own pillow on my bed where she loves to sleep with me. I always have to find her special play mice cause she bats them undr the couches and chairs and desk. She knows when it is treat time and that is normally 8pm. She loves to lick my nose to wake me up. When it is cold she snuggles under the blankets with me. I cook fish and oh my goodness she looks at me like "where's my plate". Wel those eyes looking at me I cant resist she gets her own plate. i think she watches tv cause she sits on the tv stank staring at it. She is my LOVE. She has bad teeth and they need to be pulled. She can not eat anything except broth and very little of that. It breaks my heart cause she was only 7 lbs. to start now down to 5. They also want to run blood work for cancer. I have gone to Manatee County Humaine society for help and treatment in Florida. I have applied for ss disability and you know how long that takes. I am living with my daughter at the moment. No job.:( I have worked all my life and what I had in my 401k I had to take out and use.

Papa is a five-year-old Pit Bull in Ruskin, FL, who needs $640 for heartworm treatment.
Ruskin, FL
Jessly's family never intended to adopt Papa, but he really needed them. "My father-in-law rescued Papa from a mechanic shop where they were abusing him," Jessly S. tells Waggle. "My father-in-law moved, and he couldn’t have him in his new home, so my family took Papa in." And soon after, they realized they needed Papa as much as he needed them. It was like it was meant to be. "Papa sleeps with my 15-year-old son. They have built a strong bond together that is unbreakable. I’m a foster mom, and my foster kids love playing and lying on Papa. He loves to give kisses and cuddle," Jessly says. But the family just got some shocking news: Papa tested positive for heartworm. It seems no one gave the dog heartworm prevention in the past. They can get him treated at The Humane Society of Manatee County, but they've fallen on hard times and are having trouble paying for it. If Papa doesn't get treatment, the heartworms will eventually grow and kill him. "We are barely surviving," Jessly says. "My wife lost her job because of COVID. She owned a small business. We, as a whole family, are trying our best to overcome everything. It would mean the world to get this financial help for Papa because we are not ready to say goodbye. We love our Papa so much." If you can help Jessly and her family get Papa the treatment he needs he can live an extraordinary life, free of disgusting heartworms. It would mean the world to them all. "Papa has a love for kids that matches the love that my family shares with foster kids," Jessly says. "He is so kind and loving. My son worries so much about Papa, and that brings so much sadness to me. We can’t see our life without Papa!"

Scout
Scout is a 13-year-old Maine Coon in Bradenton , FL, who needs $365 for dental treatment and tooth extraction.
Bradenton, FL
About 14 years ago, my son adopted a beautiful cat, and he let me babysit…at that time I knew I needed to adopt. I contacted a local cat rescue and after meeting many sweeties, I knew that this sweet little orange girl needed to be mine, so that day, we began our journey together. From that first car ride home, we became best buddies. From the time Scout was adopted, my boys and I called her our “puppy kitten”. She was born a feral, in a barn with a litter of brothers, but quickly became the leader of her new family. She runs to the door, when the bell rings, is extremely social and has become very affectionate and loving cat I have ever met. My work experience with the same company for 26 years was amazing, but like many others, lost my job due to COVID. The company restructured, leaving me without employment for the first time in my life. I was so scared, but always count my blessings! Scout has been very healthy with the exception of receiving bad teeth from her gene pool. She’s been through 2 prior surgeries on her gums and teeth. Due to her aging, another is now needed. Since I lost my job of 26 years, a friend suggested to me the Humane Society of Manatee County, and I could not be any more pleased. They are so helpful, caring and so happy to have found them! Scout has never met a box she didn’t like, and when deliveries come, she patiently waits for contents to be emptied so she can jump in. She watches out the window for me to return home and snuggles with me every night. I have an old “high chair” that Scout has adopted as her own, and jumps up to join her family at dinner time.

Archie
Archie is a 2-year-old Yorkshire Terrier in Bradenton, FL, who needs $430 for dental treatment.
Bradenton, FL
Archie came into my life in May 2019 when he was 12 weeks old. Out of the 5-6 puppies I looked at he was the only one who came to me and immediately fell asleep in my arms when I picked him up so it was a done deal when that happened and funny thing is I was looking for a white puppy but as soon as that sweet puppy claimed me as his we have been inseparable. I'm retired and it's just the 2 of us, he doesn't like to let me out of his sight, he loves squeaky toys and loves to chase after them and bring them back. He is spoiled. He sleeps in bed with me and will sleep until I wake up no matter how late I sleep ( what a good boy!) He is a life saver for me, I was I am beside myself with worry because his teeth issues bring him distress, I love him so much and don't think I could handle another loss. I am on a fixed income of only social security and struggle just to keep us fed, 2 vet visits in the past month have left me in a bind Archie never lost most of his baby teeth when he should have, some have finally come out over the past 6 months or so ( he is 2 1/2) but some never did and now he has been having problems with infection the past month and on the second visit in a months time the Vet at Manatee County Humane Society said the problematic baby teeth need to come out because a more serious infection might not end well Archie is typically very active and he thinks he is part spiderman the way he jumps up to catch a toy and when he chases after a toy he has to grab a nearby toy to take with him and drops that toy to pick up the toy that was thrown then runs back to get the toy he left behind, its really cute. I got a pup on advice from relatives to help me deal with my Sons death, he has helped me so much.

Tiggerboy
Tiggerboy is a 0-year-old Tabby in Bradenton, FL, who needs $1,870 for Not sure yet..
Bradenton, FL
Tigger-boy happened into my life when my friends next door neighbor had a feral cat living under there house who had had 5 kittens. I had just lost a pet I had had for 3 years due to the fact that I could not afford treatments that she needed so I elected to give her up to someone who could afford it. It was hard on me until I saw this beautiful tiny feral 🐈. I fell head over heels immediately! When I brought her home all I knew was that I had to save her from being put down or uncared for. I took it to the vet as a feral cat so he could get the best chance at a healthy start. I didn't have a lot of money but new he would fit in with all the feral cats over in my cul-de-sac but because of some problems it was having I decided to take it in and make it my own. Get him healthy and strong. I lost one pet that I had for 3 years due to the fact that I couldn't afford the treatments. I loved her very much. The same thing is about to happen again. He brings such Joy to my days...and nights. I just need somebody help me save him. Or perhaps it's me you'd be saving. Manatee County Humane Society has been treating him but they cannot as of yet figure out why he is constipated and that is going to take more testing that I cannot afford. He's 4 months old and has had all of his shots and is up to date but I have spent all I can afford because I am on disability and am disabled myself. I just want to love Tiggerboy and have him be a part of my life forever. Tigger boy is such a joy. I am disabled and have PTSD and my doctor recommended an emotional support animal and when I saw Tigger boy I just knew I wanted to save him and have him join me and be my forever family. He started developing intestinal complications. He gets constipated a lot and can't poop most times. I'm hoping by the fecal specimen they took today that more will be revealed.

Muki
Muki is a 3-year-old chihuahua in Osprey, FL, who needs $290 for Dental.
Osprey, FL
Muki was adopted on Easter 2017, and has been with us ever since. She became the little sister to Kyva as she entered our family. She lives with a liver shunt & has intermittent seizures. However, that hasn't stopped her from parkouring around the house, twirling like a ballerina, whooing like Chewbacca, and being a personal space invader. She lives with a constant smile that brightens your day! Muki is the little sister to Kyva and just as her sister has grown into a Daddy's girl. She loves to go on car rides, walks, plays with her sister, & be held by Daddy. She is a sunbather and a sock & underwear stealer. If not cuddled with her sister, she loves to be snuggled with her parents. Muki is loved by everyone in the family and is especially spoiled by her grandmother. COVID-19 has extremely impacted Muki's Dad's ministry & his counseling business. At this time we are seeking help for her dental extractions. We would be joyful in knowing that not only can she eat comfortably, but she will have better breath for a long happy life! Muki was rescued at 4mo old & came with no medical history. At around 6mo she had her first seizure. Diagnosis was that she has a liver shunt and this causes intermittent seizures. At her last check-up at Humane Society of Manatee County, she was found to have multiple impacted teeth & due to this, bacteria & infection-causing medical concerns. What makes Muki special is her personality. Sometimes it seems that she is channeling Elvis or Stallone as her lip curls on one side. At other times it's like she channels either Chewbacca or an elephant with the way she howls. What also makes her special is that she has no understanding of personal space. If she's not sticking her nose up your nose to say hi she is found sitting on her sister.

Kyva
Kyva is a 5-year-old Chihuahua in Osprey, FL, who needs $290 for Dental.
Osprey, FL
We rescued July of 2015 (5mo). She had a cast on her left leg from being stepped on as a pup and no one doing anything about it. Rescue agency had to re-adjust leg, place in 2 rods, & multiple screws. Kyva has been with us for 5yrs, cast free & is one of the happiest, most lovable dogs you will meet. While scared of everything she is also curious about everything & has grown to be a Daddy's girl. Kyva is our furbaby. She was our only dog until 3yrs ago. If she is not snuggled with her dad, she is snuggled with her sister. Kyva likes to wrestle with her sister, play tag & when hyper will run in big circles. She is lovable to all family members, loves giving kisses, & is extremely bonded to my husband & will climb on his shoulders & lick his bald head whenever given the chance. COVID-19 has extremely impacted my husband's ministry & his counseling business. At this time we are seeking help for her dental extractions. We would be joyful in knowing that not only can she eat comfortably, but she will have better breath for a long happy life! While we have spent many resources caring for Kyva's leg, our current medical situation is with her teeth. We know dogs don't have the best breath but we never expected that her breath was due to her impacted teeth that never fell out during her puppy years. Manatee Humane Society has expressed she has multiple upper & lower teeth that are infected & need to be extracted for overall health. Kyva gets very happy when we are going for a ride because most of the time she gets to go visit her cousins. She can often be found laying in weird positions or acting like an ostrich by hiding her head only. She is special to us because of her story & while the hard to her leg was tragic, today she doesn't let it stop her! She will often hold her leg up to get sympathy treats!
