Lilly

Lilly is a 5 year old Boston Terrier in New Palestine, IN, who needs $1,689 for Spay and Nares.

New Palestine, IN

Lilly came into our lives when she was just a puppy. She will be five years old this year. We do have another Boston Terrier named Winston, who is her best friend. She received her name from one of our favorite flowers. We have been advised that it would be in Lilly's best interest to have her fixed as well as have her nares fixed to help with her breathing. We are currently taking her to Indy Paws Vet Hospital. Lilly has never been considered a "pet" to our family. She has always been like one of us. We often refer to her as our "dogaughter". She often acts like us as well. Pouting when we aren't doing what she wants or climbing in our bed, getting under the blankets, and poking her head out the top just like we do. Currently we are having some serious medical issues. One of us had to have an emergency neck surgery and has to take time off work while recovering. To have our little dogaughter be healthy would mean everything to us. She is like one of our children.

Guido

Guido is a 14-year-old Hemingway Cat in Indianapolis, IN, who needs $860 for Full Abdominal Ultrasound & Tissue Biopsy.

Indianapolis, IN

Guido found me when I was walking to the store. I saw a little grey & white kitten with HUGE paws. I asked & a man said a truck drove down the street & threw a box of kittens out the window! How could someone do that to kittens! I looked down as he was rolling over on my foot meowing with his big thumbs. He has thumbs bc he is a Hemingway cat & Guido is what my parents called us as babies. Guido is the man of the house & everyone knows it. Much of his life he was indoors & outdoors. He made friends wherever he went & he went a lot of places! Bloomington, Indianapolis, Chicago. He would even hang out in the lobbies with the door guys in Chicago. Guido knows how to sit, shake, hi-five, fetch, & knows it is time to come inside when I give him to the count of 3. 1,2, in comes Guid. Guido is so smart. Sometimes maybe too smart for his own good. When he talks to me, I joke "Guido pls use your words!" One of my favorite stories was when I lived in Woodruff Place & from my window, I saw Guido about to cross the road. Immediately I got worried & watched, but Guido stopped & literally looked both ways before crossing the road to come home. Needless to say I was a proud cat mom! Guido turned 14 this year! We went for a check up and had a blood test, which came back perfect.. Soon after, he became lethargic & started rapidly losing weight. I took him to Indy Paws & found out he had lost 8lbs in 2 months. Dr. McGovern said it could be IBS, which is manageable with diet and medications or cancer. We need a full body ultrasound & tissue biopsy to know Guido's diagnosis. Last year my father died of cancer. I'm proud to take on his business & carry on his legacy, but it has been difficult to pay bills. Getting this test done will tell me, meds & diet or end of life care. I don't want him in pain if I'm losing my 2nd favorite guy to cancer.

Apollo

Apollo is a 4-year-old Maine Coon in Indianapolis, IN, who needs $1,545 for Dental with Potential Cheek Teeth Extraction.

Indianapolis, IN

I adopted Apollo back in March of 2020, right before the US went into lockdown. I was so lucky to have her during that time. We had so much time to bond. She quickly became my baby. We had another cat, Paddington. She was scared of Apollo at first. She wasn't used to having another cat in the house. But they eventually become close. They loved to watch birds together. I'm living in an apartment now and Apollo has two sisters. She and Ali get along well and like to cuddle. Newt is still young and a bit too playful for Apollo, but will still let Newt groom her. They often will sit on my lap together. Apollo doesn't always want to be touched, but she likes to be near me. If I'm sitting on the couch, Apollo is sitting right under me. She's a very loud cat. She yells when she's unhappy about a closed door. In true cat fashion, as soon as I let her in, she wants immediately back out. Sometimes when I'm trying to fall asleep and she wants attention, she's push her head under my hand to try and pet herself. She loves fresh air. Whenever we open a window or the balcony door, I can see her little nose sniffing. Apollo has painful gums. She might just be having a reaction to the tartar on her teeth and would only need her teeth cleaned. But she might also have stomatitis. In which case, she'll need to have some of her teeth pulled. They won't be able to tell until she's under. Either way, it's painful for her. Since I'm in college, I can't work a full time job. Even if I work 30 hours a week, the surgery will cost more than I make in a month. I only had enough Care Credit to pay for pain medicine. I just want Apollo to be back to her happy, healthy self.

Louie

Louie is a 1-year-old Pit bull in Shelbyville , IN, who needs $1,800 for Wound Treatment.

Shelbyville, IN

We got Louie because his mom couldn’t keep him at 9 months old. He has the biggest heart and only wants to play. It was a hard adjustment for him at first because he was so confused why he wasn’t with my bfs mom anymore. He was very scared on the ride home. So I sat with him to keep him comfy. Once he was inside we knew he would be ok. He tries to get in bed with us every night and morning. He loves cuddles so much. He’s a sweet boy he loves his cat sibling and his dog sister. He loves everyone he is so good with people. He talks to you when he’s excited and makes it known when he’s ready to eat his food. He’s very attached to my bf. He runs into things like it’s nobody’s business. He will come running into the room when he’s excited with a toy in his mouth. He doesn’t care what it is he picks it up and keeps it till we give him all the love and attention he came for. When you walk in the door he tries to knock you down with kisses he’s such a good boy. We are trying to get into Indy paws vet but the bad thing is they won’t take him in till we have the money. He was attacked by another dog and had a few chunks of his tissue exposed and it it swelled and got infected. He has knots and puss on his skull and it has been hurting and irritating him for 3 days now. Our hope was that it would heal on its own but sadly it hasn’t. We didn’t expect to have him get hurt it was so sudden and it hasn’t been easy on either me and my boyfriend. We fell in love with him and it would hurt us both deeply to continue to watch our boy suffer.
